    Re: Info Help Thanks for the tips. Its actually a 26 inch tire in the back, I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them up. The Guard says Hawthorne, and I'll have to dig out my huffy 10 speed and see what the chain ring looks like. :D

    I need some help finding info on my bike. All i know is its a Hawthorne, and thats its possible from '69. I did a bit of research and found out its possibly a Hawthorne Super Springer, but I keep finding dead links. Does this bike look familiar to you guys? Thanks! Right one^

    Rusty/Patina Bicycle Gallery

    This is my favorite bike 'Tet". It had a terrible house paint job that I started to remove with oven cleaner, but it looks like the bike was already missing alot of its original paint, so I kept going and it turned out like the 2nd pic.

    Sick of the crappy house paint green. Decided to take it off, looks like the person who painted it tried to prep some of the frame then gave up and just painted over it all. So its now become my Rat Rod bike: With my other Hawthorne : Chain Guard Detail : I'll get some more tomorrow...

    I'm completely new to the Bike Building scene. I picked up an old Hawthorne since I've wanted to get into bikes and it gives me something to play with when my VW its frustrating me. I then named it "Tet" which is short for Tetanus, since its more rust than bicycle :lol: Here's how It arrived...

    And I thought mine had rust. Its a Hawthorne, I cleaned up the chain guard a bit and could see where it said Hawthone in the light. Sold through Montgomery Ward, is my guess. Thanks for the help guys.
