Slowly but surely re-assembling starsNbars.

Finished grinding and making the clear jewels out of regular reflector material. Got them installed in the jeweled star chainring.

Had to turn the front tire around since the tread was backwards and bugging me. I REALLY hate hand pumping 50 pounds in the BIG tires. Also redid the leather cord brake stop. Mounted up the rockers and mounted up the front springer. Also mounted the tank.

I picked up this jumbo lock the other day and decided to add it to the saddle

Cleaned and tapped the axle adjuster threads. I like how the Cheerio Don't Tread On Me stickers turned out.

Scuffed up the copper Don't Tread On Me coin and sprayed a matte clear on it then glued it into the shifter shroud. Secured the shifter head better as well with metal shims and glue.

I had to remove the rear tire too, so that I could add rim tape that I forgot. Got the BB, Chainring, pedals, gears, chainguard done.Bolted on the prewar kickstand too. Also got the bars and painted stem on.

Man it has been a long hot day. It was 85 in my shop and it seems to get smaller and smaller. Did some more work tonight. Glued the star concho inside of the old glass jeweled tag light tail light and got it mounted.

I am not sure if I am feeling the Number 1 USA valve caps. I may go with the basic star ones.

Mounted the 1943 (wartime) Cleveland jeweled bike tag as well as the obligatory bottle opener.

I had to resolder one of the headlight connections, then get it mounted.

Hooked up the drum brakes and laced up the snakeskin/leather streamer grips.

I am definitely getting my money's worth out of the yardsale western belt. I used two more of the star conchos for the holes that were on the front of the tank.

Here is a pick of the star chainring with my homemade clear/white jewels.
WP_20140726_21_26_47_Pro.jpg

Worked on the horn. Had to grind out the back of one of the star conchos and JB Weld a nut on it.

I decided not to use the red plastic behind the watering can spout gangway horn. Instead I painted the Royce horn cover primer red. I think it gives a better 3D effect and depth.

I also re-installed the horny brake and it works like a champ.

Lookin good

Getting close King! Nice work on the crank reflector jewels!
I need to find some of those grips...
Luke.

Thanks guys! I am hoping that I can finish it up today before heading out of town on biz tomorrow. That way I'll have next weekend to just concentrate on riding it and taking pictures. It's gonna be another hot one today. 99 with a heat index of 110!!!

Stay cool B!! Great progress so far.

I think I may have sweated 10 pounds off working in my shop the past three days.

Got a little behind on this one, it's all coming together!

I know what you mean. When it comes down to crunch time, it's very hard to work on your build AND see what everyone else is doing.

Continued wrapping up starsNbars. The past couple of years I've really liked the little skulls that my "Shake and Bake" buddy @tvc15 used on his grip streamers, so when I saw a skull bracelet in San Francisco's Chinatown this year, I snatched it up. Keeping with the Red White and Rust theme, I painted some of them Red and Rust.

Unfortunately the JBWeld didn't work for this idea

But I did find a cool place to place a levitating skull on my seat.

Turned out real nice @kingfish254 !!
Great job, good luck!

Thanks guys! I really like how well the masking tape stripes turned out. My main purpose for them was to provide distinction and definition to the twin top and bottom bars. From side views you barely even notice them, but you can see some lines that draw you in to see the split bars. I love this freaking frame!!

I went for a fun ride. Hard to call it a maiden voyage because I have been enjoying rides on starsNbars for a while now, but this is the first ride with it complete. I'll post up a finished thread sometime later in the week. I am out of town this week and would like to take some better photos next weekend.

This pic is for @Uncle Fide 's daughter. The American Legion hall is only about 10 blocks from my house, and I wanted a photo of starNbars in front of it. I never realized it was the actual building that the Mighty Eighth Air Force was started in. Pretty cool.
