Thanks man, the chrome on the frame is in great shape except for some areas near some of the joints. That clear coat did a great job protecting her.
It was fun showing off the chainguard at work today!! It is pretty slick, if I do say so myself.

Polished some parts, prepped and taped the frame for paint.
The chrome part you see is going to be painted the Metalcast red tomorrow after work.
Then I finally gave the 54 Chevy eagle some wings back. I used some JB Weld to graft the 53 Ford wings to the eagle at a little bit of a downward slope.
Also my buddy came over with my Flex-Liner 7 logo stickers, so I can start working on the whiskey flask battery pack and the headlight guts.
EDIT: Can't stand having to go back a page to see this bad boy!
Polished some parts, prepped and taped the frame for paint.

Me too, man!!!!!
I really think it will pull the front and back ends together.
I truly love the chrome Spaceliners, but sometimes you just need some color in there to contrast with the brightness of the chrome.
Just look at all of the space age doodads that they originally came with!!!
I hope the paint gods smile on me tomorrow evening.

My buddy dropped of my FL7 logo stickers, so I went at one of the big ones with my exacto and just cut out the 7 and the FLEX-LINER part. Oh yeah and the Rat Fink flies too.
Applied the sticker to the shiny non painted side of the Flexi-glass.
Test fit it with the water pitcher headlight lense.
Now time to test some lights. First up the guts from the flat worklight.
This white light set seems to be a bit too powerful and it washes out the red Flexi-glass a bit.
I still had the 50 cent yard sale red LED strip, so I gave it a shot. I can feel the warmth already!!!!!
I think I am going to rig up the red LED strip on a ring and use it. It doesn't show up so much in the photos, but the light is so much less harsh and just feels right with the red Flexi-glass and logo.
Another late night, but worth it.

I may have to postpone painting until tomorrow. We are having a heat index of 114 today and it's supposed to rain this afternoon, so that's gonna shoot the humidity up. Not the best conditions to try to lay three coats down on all surfaces of interior twin tubes. :? :x

Thanks, the lights are getting there.
I want to see red on the frame too man, but I don't think it is happening tonight.

Thanks a lot man. I am having a blast and can't wait to get teh TwinFlex rear back on and ride this baby again.

Got home and decided to heck with the heat. I needed to see some red on that frame!!!
No runs and got all coats on it with out a hitch.

What tape???
I changed to color scheme. It a blue bike with an anodized red fade job.

Thanks, just got back from a neighbor museum opening. They have opened the "Great Savannah Races Museum" in their carriage house shop. Most people don't know it, but the first Gand Prix in the US was held in Savannah in 1908 and subsequent races were held here in 1909 and 1910. As a matter of fact I remember as a kid we loved to ride our muscle bikes (my Screamer 2) on this cool banked curve near the island that I grew up on. I found out later that the curve was created that way for the 1908 race.
Once I got home, I couldn't get out to the shop fast enoough to unmask the frame and check out the paint. No holidays or runs of any sort. This is looking sweet. Check it out below!!
