One last photo. Don't think I will use this idea for this build, but has anyone used a fan screen for fender skirts? I tossed a tire and it landed this way. Snapped a photo for future reference. One more thing to look for at yard sales. Old big fans.
WP_001591.jpg

Note to self. Thanks for the tip!

If anyone uses this idea on their BO7 bike, they owe me a vote!!!! :p

It looks like an obvious use of a fan doesn't it??? I have a plastic one of these air movers too that I think has some pretty cool looking louvers. I am really surprised we haven't seen this used. Pretty cool that the tire landed in just the right spot and that I noticed it a few days later.

I thought about doing this on last years Build Off, but I was using 26" tires so the fan guards weren't big enough ....
Proof... They were in my "Parts Photo" last year, purposely not highlighted because I wasn't sure they'd work ...
Since I'm running 24' ers this year ... Perfect fit ...

I was going to reveal these later, I have two Identical metal fans ( No Longer Work, Recycle / Reuse ) So I might do Both Front and Back ....

You're on the way to getting One of my votes anyway...
I Love the job you're doing with the Back Springer ....

Thanks Karfer, missing you in this build off. I think there are two more of these front forks in BO7. I decided on the Black rims.

Thanks Who. Hopefully I can follow through with this build to earn that vote.

The fan screens just seem so natural that I am sure someone else must have done them. Are you going to use yours for skirts or as wheel covers? Did you see the Pizza screens I added to BEER RUN when my buddy wanted to use it as art in his pizza joint?

King, you get your guard lights worked out? Rg

RG, I was very lucky and a pair of brand new never used 9" car LED strips found me at a yard sale Saturday and I only had to pay $1 for the set!!!

Re: FlexLiner 7 - TwinFlex Spaceliner 5/30 Guard Lites + Pipes

Here are the lights that I found at a yard sale for $0.50 only days after mentioning that I needed some to put behind the chainguard vents. This strip is exactly as long as the vents.

Here is another chainguard idea that may or may not stick. I love all of the exhaust pipes I have been seeing, so here is my take on pipes.
Just some copper 45s. I will probably cut the backs off so that the elbow is closer to the guard. What do you think?

Re: FlexLiner 7 - TwinFlex Spaceliner 5/30 Guard Lites + Pipes

Nice idea B! I got those figures. Thanks a bunch. Ya know i'm the king of exhaust pipes. so ya know I've got an exhaust idea! Peace

Re: FlexLiner 7 - TwinFlex Spaceliner 5/30 Guard Lites + Pipes

I think those would be pretty cool pipes on the chainguard ....
You've got good luck at Yard Sales lately, the Handlebars are great on that bike, and now the lights ... If you could set those lights up to shine through your pipes, kinda like HiaWhatThe 's build, I think that'd really make your chainguard rock...

Yes I did see those pizza screens after the Build Off last year, thought they were cool also ...
The fan screens I have, I'm thinking on using them as Skirts somehow, but I'm not doing a full on plan for that until I get my basics down .. Like actually joining the frames.....

Re: FlexLiner 7 - TwinFlex Spaceliner 5/30 Guard Lites + Pipes

I'll have to play with them. Maybe I should even angle them up like Big Daddy Swamp Rat pipes.

Re: FlexLiner 7 - TwinFlex Spaceliner 5/30 Guard Lites + Pipes

Be sure to save the fan blades for spinners on next years build

I WANNa see THOSE FAN WHEEL COVERS ALREADY!!!

(Oh and the exhaust pipes get a thumbs up from me. I think a lil trimming like you suggested would be good.)

I'm not doing the fan wheel covers in my build. It was just an idea that I came up with.
Whoinphx is going to do it for his build though.

A lot of cool parts... but does it FLEX?

LOL, It flexes just as much as your front suspension does! :p

I need to wait until my Nexus 7 and new springer head come in before I can make my rear end flexy.
