Re: Flex{\\\}Liner 7 TwinFlex Spaceliner 6/9 Two Pair of Wings

Cut up the two cool hood ornaments that I have. Don't know what they are made of, but they sure were hard on the cutoff wheels that slice right through steel.

I plan on using all of these pieces.

Then I cranked up Danger Zone from Top Gun and had some fun.

Big finned wings on the orginial drops. (I love this first photo)

And smaller wings on the frame right beside where the Flexy spring and Vienna can go.
I also cut the springer bolt brace from 1/8 stainless but didn't take any photos yet.

Thanks Peat. I really like them too.
Not sure if they can be welded or not.

Re: Flex{\\\}Liner 7 TwinFlex Spaceliner 6/9 Two Pair of Wings

OK, I like the wings on the chainstays best.

They can probably be brazed on if they're some kind of pot metal that doesn't take to weld well.

I don't know if I want to apply that much heat to the chrome bike.
Maybe JB Weld would work ?

Ohhhh OOOOHHHHH Ouch ....
I love those hood ornaments ... looking at these pictures reminds me of little kids torturing cicadas or grasshoppers by tearing their wings off ....
( they jump around all funny when you do that .... AHEM .... But then you grow up to be a caring, mature, adult who teaches your kids not to bug any kind of wild life, just so it isn't in the house ...)

Anywho ... LOVE the wings where you have them ... Way Cool ... I kinda like the flipped supports on the rack as well ... I'm also thinking on using one on my build ...

Digging everything here so far ....

Re: Flex{\\\}Liner 7 TwinFlex Spaceliner 6/9 Two Pair of Wings

Oh, by the way, I saw these in the neighborhood today, they're outside a place that has all kinds of big machinery ....

MO FATTA MO BETTA ....

I'll ship them if you want to use them on your build .... :)

Didn't pick them up tho, I have enough stuff I think is cool, but will never use ...

Re: Flex{\\\}Liner 7 TwinFlex Spaceliner 6/9 Two Pair of Wings

With the tank tread I could build this.

Ooo, forgot about the chrome.

It seams like JB Weld would work on the smaller wings.

For the bigger finned wings, I could even braze on mounting plate and bolt it on to the dropouts.

These hoodies are little works of art, so it did feel a little "wrong" cutting them up, but it's really going to be fun incorporating these into Flexy.

Thanks for the compliments. I will have to wait to see if I end up with the rack or not. I love these rack, but it might not flow with the build. Who knows.

I thought you were pulling my leg, because the Plumber's Putty I have used is the soft stuff you use to seal a drain to a sink.

I think you may be talking about Plumber's Epoxy Putty. Thanks.

Re: Flex{\\\}Liner 7 TwinFlex Spaceliner 6/9 Two Pair of Wings

I will be in Savannah later this week! We are staying in St. Simons all week.

Btw the hood ornament looks familiar
