Haha, only 1 and a half, the "one" got some gear reduction yesterday and has turned out to be a REALLY fun ride.

More are on the way... don't worry.

I sure like that sharp-looking, high-tech splash of green against the digital camo! 8)

Wheel of Shame.

Mine came out super wobbly before I started truing and I knew my rim was straight. Turns out because of the offset of the hub for the disk brake it had 2 slightly different length spokes. So I took it apart, separated the spokes and went again.

You and Funkme should get together. You would have two sets of wheels built by now...

Good plan, but there's at least 1 ocean in between us.

Still been sick which is very unmotivational, so I haven't done a lot of work. I did build the wheel, so It thought I would show you one of my wheel building tools. I wanted one of those speed driver type spoke nipple screwdrivers, but when I saw that they cost about $40, I didn't want one anymore. I was at Lowes with my daughter and she pointed out a Greenlee screwdriver, is was a speed driver, so I bought it for about $6.

I used my Dremel tool to notch the tip. The "point" in the middle goes into the spoke hole which keeps the flathead from slipping out. You can quickly and easily spin spoke nipples onto the spokes with 1 hand, and it makes it real easy to count how many turns you put on each nipple.

This is the brake lever that inspired me to build a klunker. It came off of an old USA made Murray mountain bike:

Here's a peek at the wheel, 3 of my favorite brands, Kenda, Araya, and Porkchop.

And here is my bar, grip, lever, stem:
