I'm so glad that I can FINALLY return these gawdy monstrosities. They were a desperate attempt to find something unique after my first grip set disappeared during shipping. BEGONE SHINY DAZZLERS!

This year's build off has me playing yoyo with Amazon. Most of the stuff I'm using for my bike has been exchanged at least once. I'm already up to 5 exchanges for the pedal assembly, and I still have to have a custom spindle made

Changed up my padding plans on the seat.

Waiting on the glue to dry on padding. It now has 1/4" of high density yoga mat to pad my keister. Debating on adding one more layer, I'll wait until the glue to dry tomorrow to see how it all stacks up

I was also mulling these over. I didn't opt for spikes because I'd destroy automobiles but end caps seemed an easy, less common sub.

The chrome accoutrements are going to add some serious style, as well.

Went on a HUGE group ride today, put on by the Freewheeler bike shop. There were easily 3-400 riders. Tons of Big Rippers and BMX style bikes

Well, after ANOTHER bout of insomnia, I've completely finished the seat. Added a brushed bronze finish to the raised diamonds. Not at all shabby for my second ever attempt at a custom bike seat

Yeah. At least 18 hours of nothing but stitching. It's kinda therapeutic and helps with my insomnia

Your attention to detail shows. I have spent weeks redoing a seat before. Punch every hole, fingers like pincushions and hours and hours of cross-stiching. In the end it pays off.

Guess who's got gas tonight? Yeah, okay, it's me. Finally got my MIG gas setup so I can stop showering my shop and projects with flux core splatter. Working the seat spring mounting blocks

I got annoyed the other day with lugging the welder and tank around the shop every time I need to do some welding. Figured that since I have a new welder and a new tank I oughta build a whole new welding cart. I'm using an old cast iron table saw deck for the top. Beats spending close to $100 on a piece of 1/2" plate steel for the welding table. As an added bonus, I have miter rails and a central clamp location. Still have to build a removable insert piece for the center and some drawers, but it's getting late, and I want to get going with welding the bike frame together

I've been more busy this last week with building equipment than my bike frame. Built a welding cart, bench grinder stand, a portable vice/hammer forming stand, a grinding wheel stand, and an easy access stand for my grinding wheels. Starting out today with a shop cleanup, then I'll get back to building the frame

Making progress, and a confession. As you can see from the forks, I've put some thought into this project. The base design of this build is something I've been working on for over two years. I even started building another frame, but I was never happy with it. The last pic is where I was at as of a month before the build off started.
