I think the handlebars are the next decision...I’m too old for the messenger bars on it now.

Moving along well. I've always liked those Silverton safety doodads.

Really like the 'flair' on the rear fender by the green reflector. What is that, Ed?

As shown previously...BFG piece.

Bars, bars and I think a couple more to dig out. What do you think?

Not exactly a landslide of voting, but it looks like the “B” bars are getting some interest. I went through the Sears Catalogue Elgin reprints and It looks as if there were maybe 3 basic shape styles used.

The cross brace is leftover from my “iAM Higgins build off bike from a few years ago. It was replaced by copper pipe. I went ahead and shortened them up to fir the “B” bars. My first real job after HS was a stint at Beechcraft Aircraft Co as a burr-hand, hand former and finally a drop-hammer operator, thus the hand fabricated cross brace from an old tent pole.

Not necessarily the final bars.

I like A. Also, those big round ones at the top of the second picture of your previous post

The “A” bars were on the bike when I got it. The big rounded ones were my initial build thought, but I’ve used that style on quite a few builds. Thanks for your input!
Thank you Brian, see previous post.
I like the middle one of the three in the very first pic, or B or E (if it's wide enough?).
Thanks OJ, I like the “E” bars, if they had more size I’d use them. See previous post up.
The cross-brace bars get my vote!! 2nd is option B
The cross-brace bars use “B” bars, see previous post up. Thanks they’re “arty”.

Let there be light going forward however dim it may be...added the postwar Delta light.

Found a good buy on an old chain/tire activated bell. I need to add a chain, cable or rod to control it. I’ll add some black color to the shiny hardware.

I cleaned up the kickstand and put it back in place. I may need to drill out the rivet and add a bolt to control the positioning better.

Not one to let grass grow under my feet I put the Elgin partway back together. I test fit the tires on hand. Goodyear 36”x2.125 measure out at just over 2” and look skinny in the fenders. The Fat Franks are a better fit but look too contemporary with all the graphics. They are 26”x2.350.

The rear wheel has a little runout so the rim needs truing. I may try to get the Sunlite Sandy Beach tires I used in BO#12 if I can get the wheel to run straight.
Need to figure out a clean way to mount the chainguard.
