This bike was made for one year in 2006 by Raleigh. The P.U.B. stands for Public Utility Bike. MSRP was $385.00.

It's a very large bike and the frame is aluminum with the flat foot geometry so it's really comfortable to ride.

The paint color is called "Stout" and there's a built-in bottle opener near the tank area for those cold beverages.

Despite the large size, the bike is surprisingly light weight with the aluminum frame and components.

I bought this from a freight salvage company that was selling it really cheap because the springer fork had been bent in transit.

After several attempts to straighten the bent fork I gave up and let the bike hang in my garage.

I was talking with Mitch at Bicycle Exchange and he said he would try to track down a replacement fork.

After a few phone calls to Raleigh Mitch managed to find a replacement springer and now the bike is as good as new.

Absolutely gorgeous!

Thanks guys....took it out for a spin this evening....new straight fork made a world of difference.

She's still a sweet ride...I'm the guy who bought that bike from Rat Rod awhile ago and I took her out for a little spin tonight! Nice to see those early photos of her; basically, not much has changed other than different pedals and valve stem caps courtesy of the original owner. I don't plan to do anything too rad myself, but I'm thinking a slightly narrower bar might be in order.

I'd like some slightly wider tires, at least in the back. The springer fork, of course, limits the front tire's width, so that'll stay stock. I'll try to keep this thread updated.

Anyone have an idea how rare the Raleigh PUBs are? It was only made in 2006 and it would be interesting to know what the production number was.

Hey @Rat Rod , how did this compare to the Ruff Porucho?

I see the pics have been photobucketted, but I see them on FB, so here they are for future reference.
