I'm calling this old late '60s Sears Spyder 'Bam-Bam' for the time being because it is beat! (Project has been renamed). It came to me as a freebie with a really nice Buzz Bike I bought. But as the wise ones know deep down, there's no such thing as a free muscle bike. It's going to get a new lease on life as a full Kustom, but for starters it just needs a ton of work. It will be reborn as a Huffy Dragster, the original roots of the bike. Lots of parts ordering going on (blast this credit card is getting hot!). Checking out other builds. Obsessing over @CRASH 's build page. Humble beginnings:

Some other Dragsters I found online of different vintages

My muscle-y bike builds on RRB have been some of my all-time favorites! It really brings out the kid in you.

Bring on the flash and dash.

My fab tools are at the other garage so I took some 60 grit paper to the frame to get an idea of what’s under the paint. It looks pretty rough but it’s less bad when the paint is removed. Some of the purple is pretty shiny so I wonder if it might be the original paint. Someone sprayed a little black at it once upon a time. This was a well loved bike. There’s tons of little dings and dents. The chain stays have been welded at the dropouts. Probably damage from jumping curbs and makeshift ramps. I’ll get the rest of the paint off tomorrow and then it will be time to spread the rear triangle for a 5 speed hub.

How much does need widen for a 5speed rim

Those grips are really nice! @ifitsfreeitsforme no more sparkle grips in the future?
once I sell what I have in stock, that's it. But like I said, at the snail's pace they are selling at, I may have a few years' supply.

You are a BAD INFLUENCE!
Thanks to @68z27 for the inspiration. Lots of bad influences weighed heavily on my mind making me become addicted to these wild and awesome little bikes from the nostalgic past. They are great canvases for Kustomization. Another good name for this build could be Snow Ball. I have indeed gotten a little carried away on this one. In a very good way.:grin:
