me: *trying to push a puddle in the dark thinking, "if it doesn't come apart when I am done why does this even matter. It's not like I am going go back and make all of these flat under some powder coat or something

I hate how it always gets dark before you have time to put a few things together. Quick mock up just to make sure it still looks kinda like bicycle. Yes no maybe so. Still have to move the bottom bracket forward for some leg extension

My neighbor: what are you out here laughing at?
Me: I am going to start keeping this in my toolbox at work. This bit just went through this steel like it was butter

one droopy loop

Seriously though I can pull apart a couch and I have plenty of spring options here. I can do whatever I want I just haven't decided what I want yet and I kind of have to match it to the sidecarView attachment 129392View attachment 129393View attachment 129394View attachment 129395View attachment 129396View attachment 129397
It looks like I am going to be able to add enough leg extrension to use that old pope or whatever it is broken long spring frame and keep it under the top of the rear fender? I have some 2x12 cedar out there I can carve a saddle from to attach to the old frame

I can just throw a straight edge on that now and have three contact points from the original frame. I am avoiding using a jig here because I am a lazy cheater guy and Ratrod so whatever. I'll also be able to do the same thing for the new bottom bracket plus be able to run an exaggerated bit of chain wheel shananigans *grins
(forshadowing) I have a suprise part here Hopefully I can salvage from one one of these brown bricks and use

wait, no. that will never work plus the guys will murderlate me If cut that one up. Man... no I can't do that. Hang on I am pretty sure I have made one from scratch before let me try it that way first then I make completely unsellable ever because I used to many fancy parts to make it

darnit, this would be the perfect part too

you know the hardest part in the buildoffs is unearthing stuff in the shop I have been putting off for years and trying not to go full tangent. Lucky I am committed to this deadline or whatever and have miles to go here before it will seat two people

You know when everything is going great and then all of the sudden you hit some trash in the WWII Stahlhelm period made from scraps steel and it blows a thermite hole

in the tubing? Yeah, I hate it when that happens. At least it let me fill it eventually. String of epithets
