This is sooooo cool! If you've got a vintage steel mountain bike that was made in Japan, it might have come from here. They were making approximately 10,000 frames a year for Specialized, Ritchey, Gary Fisher, GT... So much history here!

I dunno if it's just because of the cool name or something more, but zaskar is one of the most desirable vintage mountain bikes of all time. This guy is trying to get all the significant models/colors from 1991-1999. What he's amassed so far is already stunning

Some information on Metal Matrix Composite. It was used by Specialized in their aluminum, aka Duraluminum frames from Duralcan (M2, M4, etc.). Hopefully I can get the images in order...

Bought my '84 Schwinn High Sierra (R) from Ned in the fall of '83, when he worked at The Outdoorsman in Durango. Headed up the hill from Main Av and the axle slipped in the dropout, LOL...
