Good patina match with the bars and headlight!
Funny you mention that pic, it's actually been bugging me a little. I kept looking at it and thinking It's close enough for horseshoes.Good patina match with the bars and headlight!
Today, I took a little dark brown and medium brown acrylic paste and rubbed a small amount on different parts of the darker bits.
Color shouldn't bother me now.
Wish I could simulate flaking chrome on the bezel. But that would be for some other build.
Well the pedal stand was a total failure. But it did work on my last orbo bike.
It will fit under the seat and when I plasti-dip it, won't make a sound on the mountain.
Soooo, I took the stand mount I had made for the orbo bike off of it. It started as a trailer mount that came on a bike I never had the trailer for.
With a cut piece of stainless dipstick tube that wouldn't fit the dart, it will work just fine.
Seems to work. Need to find or make a foot for it now.

Is it the same diameter as a factory kickstand (WALD, for instance)? If so, I have a possibility for your 'foot'.
Cool, thanks for the offer, but I have a few to choose from that will fit it. Just need to decide which one to cut. Inner diameter is just over 3/8

I saw one almost like it a couple years back at OBC. It was a two piece That had a plastic frame mount of storage, similarly designed.

At lunchtime, I searched through the parts box. I knew I had some large and small cane ends in it.
Rather than deal with cutting and welding or gluing, this will work fine.
Now to decide what finish to put on the last item in the list...

Now have less than half a leaf of foil left. Seems 50 leaves was the right amount.
Clear coat tomorrow.

Clear is drying.
Put the foot on it after an hour to have it glue itself to the stand as it cures in the 111F (43C) degree shade that will be here today.

Almost ready for some pics tomorrow. Having issues with the headset top nut and gotta replace it with one that will hold the strut rods in place.
Went out early this morning for some pics. Forgot the wheel stand and had to go back, so didn't make it to the spot I wanted today at the right time today. Will try tomorrow for more.
I did make it to our local bar and grille about sun up. Still got some good photos. Hopefully another golden sunrise tomorrow so I can get to that spot by 5:50.

Me and a couple friends went out riding this morning and I too what I thought would be good finish pics. At sunrise it was cloudy.
Here are a couple, unaltered, un-cropped.
As I was finishing up I heard the front tire start hissing and it was flat before we. Old even get outta the park. Found the tubes stem had come loose. Common problem with cheep tubes.
So, I got it home, a bit afraid to take off the tire, for fear of messing with the finish, and was successful.
Then... I added the tires I had picked up for stray kats ride. Some GT 2.5" smoothies.
I think the fill in the fenders and hopefully top off the build.
Edit. Trying for more pics at sunset ..

Had to take it on a ride to test out the new slicks. Rides so smooth. Will lrobably drop the pressure to 35 after they sit a few days at 45.
Really glad I changed them out.
Rolled by the neighborhood park on a test ride. Hoping I didn't catch the only sun today this morning.
