Today I installed a shorty rear fender, I had a fender painted black for another build. I cut the mounting tab off that would normally be used for the lower fender bolt , drilled a hole and mounted it from the bolt of the rear hand brake

The other hole in fender was right about inline with the sissy bar, so I took a sissy bar reflector mount and used with a bracket I had modified for the rear fender mount

Then I found a reflector ( what bracket was intended for) and mounted to make more finished and somewhat hide fender bracket.

Next I dug out the Iron cross chopper head badge

I have shown earlier in this build. I cleaned off the sticker residue of old sticker badge with some 00 steel wool soaked with paint thinner. With headlight back on it’s not real visible.

Next worked on making a mounting bracket for my iron cross sissy bar ornament that I cut from a 6” pizza pan. (Took OddJobs suggestion and mounted without backing plate) I just used some metal pipe hanger strapping for the bracket ( forgot to take pic) and mounted iron cross with a small round domed reflector with a bolt on the back through a hole I drilled in the middle of the cross. Not sure I like reflector for mount, may change to bolt with acorn nut.

Also got the paint fixed on the tank and painted the second tank So I have it as a back up.

Thanks Matti, wish I could take the credit and always make ‘em look like this, But with the back fender bracket being on sissy bar, its simple. You can slide the fender up and down to really dial the height in. So it was easy and was the design of install rather than any expertise on my part.

Agree with Matti, fender work is great. And that Iron Cross worked out perfectly!

Getting back to working on Chopper X after spending a lot of time concentrating on off road builds. First I decided to go reinstall the iron cross chainring. Then awhile back I ordered some 3” brass colored drink coasters off Amazon. I thought they would be the perfect size to try to make some iron cross hubcaps / axle spinners? For this build.

Needed some new axle nuts to make it look better, today went to LBS and picked some up.

Had 2 coasters left, took one and made a backing plate to cover up ugly white plastic behind the 3” cat eye reflector.

Took the other coaster, cut another iron cross and drilled hole in it and mounted it behind the reflector on my large 6” iron cross sissy bar ornament.

I also had a black seat bag just like the brown one on bike earlier in build, I put it on. There was a big void between seat and reflector and it fills the void. Got a few ideas to maybe dress it up alittle.

Earlier

in the thread GuitarCarl suggested using a thin piece of brass as an insert on the stem. I have since installed a flatter stem but it still had the same void , so today I took his advice and picked up some thin brass stock and made an inset for the stem.

GuitarCarl suggested possibly even engraving it and I am giving that some consideration as well.

While looking at the stem insert I got an idea to cover a hole in the headlight bracket I’ve been wanting to cover

Cut a piece of the brass stock to shape and glued on with some Goop automotive glue.

The brass details are so over the top. That's so freaking cool, and seems relatively easy to achieve!
