My original attempt included 3 colors of beads, red, brown black. The red beads looked too pinkish when bought, but a 5a in my garage light they looked like they’d work so I started

i took end plug off handlebar and punched hole through end of it, I didn’thave big enough punch so drove philips head screwdriver through to enlarge. I put ends of 3 laces together and twisted through plug, adjusted lengths and at this point just taped ends together.our plugs with streamers back into bar end. I’m gonna tell you now it won’t stay this way. Later when I pushed bike outside, the red screamed pink and looked like it belonged a a chicks bike!

Couldn’t stand the red, so reconfigured using 2 colors brown and black. I decided to slide on the leather lace brake lever for kicks and decided I liked it and added couple brown beads to its dangling lace ends.I have fiddled with length quite a bit, to begin with they were really long but I have since shortened up. I have been thinking about solid black , better proportioned seat for awhile. With beaded streamers flamed seat too much, decision made, ordered solid black seat

So yesterday I revisited black handlebars, put on some more motorcycle like grips ( had to drill endcaps for steamers) and layed black duct tape on one side of seat for a better visual of solid black seat I also been toying with idea of attaching the studded leather motorcycle

handlebar bag to the sissy bar. I’ve been working at reshaping it a few days now, since it been in a flattened state For years.

LOVIN ' THE CHOPPER X !!!!!!!!!!
Thanks OZZY1972, appreciate the positive support. Was looking at you bike graveyard and it seems we have similiar addiction, um obsession, BIKES everywhere. Love Higgins you posted and that Eliminator, nice bikes.

These black fenders are too narrow to look good with 2.4 tires, at least back one. I have a set of stingray fenders and a set of lowrider full fenders. Back tire has no clearance so have to run fender from fear handbrake back similar to 70’s stingrays but a longer fender. This is stingray set, have to remove front braces and run shorty fender, because of triple tree, can’t use axle nut.

rear reflector left from my VenVetta klunker build, like flared end. For some reason makes me think of bottom or the Red Barons helmet. I’ll need to fab bracket on triple tree for front fender. If I end up running fenders, they will be painted black

My other set are wider full lowrider fenders that will need to be chopped and dimples pounded out( some reason no pic of front fender).

these fenders cover 2.4 tires better but no duck tail on rear. Decisions….

Got a new banana seat in mail today, this one a lot more proportionate to bike and the sissy bar mounting holes are more in the proper spot. I also got a thinner vintage seat pad off the bay couple days ago, it’s red now and needs to be sprayed with black vinyl paint. As you can see in pics, messing around with a rear fender I had cleaned up and painted for another build. Had it hooked up without drilling any holes to old sissy bar, with a reflector bracket. The new seat is shorter as expected, so now I can unbolt and slide fender forward

toward handbrake and get rid of existing gap. I’ll just need to cut tab off fender, drill hole and reattach.

A thin piece of brass shim between the bars and the 4 bolt cap would look great!
Just a flat smooth piece of brass peeking thru instead of the non slip on the handlebars.
A guy with some skills could even etch or scribe something on it.

GC.

Praying your surgery goes well, and yeah that stem will probably go, all I could find that fit. In the meantime it’ll make changing handlebars easiler since can’t seem to make my mind up. Lol

Today I got the brainstorm to get rid of ( can’t seem to make mind up) what started this whole bmx chopper build , the Vans gum wall tires. In my mind I was seeing big little combo, cheater style slick in back and 1.75 in front, both whitewalls. That would really give me a hot rod old school vibe. I have a bike with that combo on so I was gonna do it and see, it never hurts right?

so far I’m liking the look

Thanks Bike from the dead. My build has evolved to a more traditional chopper look, I originally wanted more Bmx leaning but I’m obviously moving away from that now, Appreciate the input
