I took advantage of the sunshine and the blistering 25° to go out for a ride and a few pics. I need to find a longer crank because these BMXers had me worn out. Other than that the bike ride nice and smooth.

Spent the afternoon in by brother-in-law's wood working shop. It took a couple hours, but we found the Colson's tank inside a solid hunk of oak. Pics will be coming once the gloss coat has cured.

Got my oak tank mounted for pics today. Still needs the glossy urethane coat and some sick pinstripes.

Thanks, guys. I am planning on building an oak crate/rack to match the tank.

@Dr. T- I don't know where the grips came from, salvaged off of something at some point in time. Watch for the OE in the For Sale section soon. I have to work some bugs out of the rear hub or swap it for a New Departure Model D if I can't get it working.

I spent the last couple days adding a few things to the rat. Added a freshly rewired ratty Royce Union horn to the front and topped it off with a ratty Model T headlight. The horn is wired to a new micro switch that I mounted in the tank. The headlamp will get the LED treatment, lots of room for a nice big array.

Wow that headlamp is huge! It reminds me of an old airport rotating beacon.

I really like that horn mounting. looks great!

They are twine wrapped around the bars and stained with mahogany wood stain.

This is a really nice bike. I think that main spotlight/ headlamp needs to be bigger, though. ;P
