Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

Here's my favorite Craigslist ad ever!!!
http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/bik/3854072124.html

I texted and told the person I want their tires and they texted back that I'd need to know where they are to get them......
Then the phone started ringing, and ringing, and ringing and I installed a call blocker and have 17 numbers blocked already, just from this person!

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... go hunting!

These kind of posts where all there is a series of bad photos of a pile of bikes can be interesting, but this one is a complete yawner, and he has been trying to sell this pile for 6 months.

Honestly, based on the pics, I think there is an extra zero in the asking price. (note the red bike is not included)

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I can't for the life of me, figure out why those bikes would retail for $1499.00?

Now that's a cool looking bike. Not sure on the price but might not be a bad deal.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

This one is kind of hard to understand but it sounds like the seller previously sold it on eBay then the buyer destroyed it once it arrived? Huh?

Here is a broken Schwinn neon, sold on Ebay for $450, than after receiving it the person wanted it for $200. It was destroyed and sent back, glass needs repaired. The second pitcture shows the condition when sent.

They have a lot of stuff. I wished I could afford or some how to be able to get to this place.

I would give up my bikes just to have one or two of those bikes.

Is this as rare as this guy says?
I think the museum that he is referring to is bmxmuseum

GT made a million different bike models, don't believe me, try to look one up using pictures on the Internet, you'll see what I mean. That being said, the one he is selling is not a frame I remember commonly seeing, so it could be rare. If so, his price probably isn't out of line, since more common ones of that era can bring $200+.

YES, that is a GT and they are rare as Hens teeth cause NO flat land guy would ever sell one!
They were out at the same time Dyno was making cruisers.
Thinking about having my Dad ride over there tomorrow and scoop that up, wonder what the old farts up to....

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

Did a little more research, and while it is missing some original parts it appears to be priced fairly. Another one sold on eBay for $750. Apparently it was a big deal when it came out.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I picked up the GT Show after work today.
