I thought so. I texted the guy and Im buying a few others off him too. (he always puts up killer bikes and I've bought a ton off him. I cant wait to get buddy prices :D )

Find out where he finds his stuff from. Cut out the middle man lol. Unless he just has a gigantic collection

Between him and his dad, they have several hundred. They got them all from an older man who passed away, a lot of them still in boxes.

You really shouldn't post a steal of that magnitude here until you have made your deal! Someone is gonna be offering them a ton of money to ship that bike to them now that you put it out for the world to see!

I would never jump on someones deal and I hope nobody here would be so ruthless, To be safe you could just post the picture and price to ask if it is worth it (instead of posting the link).

I read a story on BMX Museum about a guy who found a good deal, called and arranged to go pick it up. When he got there the owner demanded TWICE the asking price. What happened was that on the hour+ trip another member of the Museum called on the item and when they found out someone else was coming to get it (and therefore, they couldn't) they told the owner it was worth much more and not to sell it as cheap as they listed it. What a jerk.

The same thing almost happened to me, but I won't blame another member. I had found an ad and left messages about it on a Wednesday afternoon, that evening I arranged a pick-up the next morning, it was 80 miles away. This was for my 1956 J.C. Higgins tank bike for $40. When I got there the guy said he had lots of people calling about the bike and offering him MORE money to sell it to them instead of me. I'm glad the guy selling it was an honorable man and kept his word to me first.

Well, rest assured, its safe in my hands now, with a few others. I'm not big on girls bikes, but this one is much prettier in person.

I'd never snipe someone's deal, I'd just offer the guy buying it more than he paid so he can make a bit from it too. I did that once at a yard sale, I was walking up and the guy just bought a nice 50's Schwinn for $10 and I watched the deal happen then right in front of the seller and buyer I offered him $50 and took it home. Guy made $40 in 30 seconds just standing at a garage sale. Key point even though it hurt seeing that deal happen I knew to back off and wait my turn and I still cleaned it up and sold it for $100 so I made some on it too.
