You want $1 for it?

Putting a link to an ebay listing is a Craig's list faux pas. :(

only reason i put it on craigslist too was because i offered local pic up on the ebay listing . i figured it was a good idea to show the locals.
i wasnt trying to do anything wrong

Why is it a faux pas? I have done that before too. Gives you a way to give locals attention to it and they don't have to pay shipping.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I'd think Ebay would encourage that, it gets more people's attention.
more people = more bidders
More bidders = higher selling price
higher selling price = more money for Ebay.

What's the problem?

I did the same thing when I put my tandem trike through a local auction. Truth be told half the bidders I talked to said they say it on craigslist.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I need some help guys, this Danny(Danger Dan) is selling these motorized bicycles at an alarming rate, at least one per month. Take a look at his frame mount then text/call and tell him what a ....... he is!!!!
http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/bik/3605195184.html

He does this every one he builds, says "custom mount," like he actually gave it some thought!~

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

The thing about those is in Indiana those would be considered motor vehicles instead of a moped or scooter. It's over 50 cc engine size so it would require licensing, turn signals, real brakes, license endorsement, etc. A few years ago there used to be a couple older guys in town that bought those 90/110 cc larger than normal mini choppers and rode them around. This was when gas prices shot up and they did it to save money. But once it was found out the bikes had more than a 50 cc engine, they were told to register them and get the proper endorsements or not ride them on public roads. I think they're neat at can be but it's also misleading and misunderstood to the public because theyre built on a bicycle frame or called a moped/scooter.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

In the past no liscence was required to ride mopeds here, but that has changed.
It is required you have a valid liscence for any gas powered vehicle. No registration or endorsement required, you can ride bicycle lanes.

Re: Craigslist nightmares and dreams... funny stories

I just had an email from one of my craigslist adds that made me think of the old southern term "Bless his heart" (Northern translation = God he's stupid). I posted my industrial cargo trike on Craigslist just to see what kind of offers I'd get on it and a guy emails me and asks if I'd take $50 CASH IN HAND. (As if I take anything other than cash anyway)

I asked if he forgot a zero.

Here is the bike....$50 is an insult.

Putting a nice bike up and just asking for an offer is just setting yourself up for idiots and jerks to try to take advantage of you (mostly they think you don't have a clue).
