Sweet paint work!
Thanks Kingfish. I messed up a little on the suit's.

I had the 60 minute clock running. Base coat 20 min. Gold 5 min. Black, 5 min. Gold 5 min. Wait 10 min. Red. Wait 5 min then more red. Wait 10 min, then clear.

I normally wait 5 days after base. Then do the darts. Then wait 10 days before clear....

My wife tells me I'm the worst critic I have..

A bit of assembly at lunchtime..

Thats one SLICK ride :cool2:

Looking great!
Thank You, I am glad you like it!
That is going to be a head-turner on the street [emoji106]

Jason
I tgink so too. I know it's getting close when every time I walk past it, the heart rate goes up a bit in anticipation of riding it..

[emoji106] the slicks were bought for another ride, but they didn't quite look right on it. I think they fit well on here.
How'd I miss this build. Really like the frame stretch, will have to steal that one down the road. Paint is coming out very nice.

Paint looks awesome!!
Thanks DeFresh!

A tip for painted bars....

I try to spread the bosses on calipers and shifters to keep from removing all the paint putting them on.

I worked up a new blister working those home-made grips. That leather pattern will have to do for this weekend. I will revisit.

I still need to make cable tie downs before connecting the shifter and rear disc.

Hope to ride it tomorrow sometime...

Last pieces to make it rideable.

Cut some leather cable the downs from the same leather scraps from when I made those grips a couple summer's ago.

Tied them on.

Connected brakes and gears, then went for a spin around the block. Stopped at a park down on the corner for a pic.

Looks naked without the guard. Gotta make a bracket.

I love the cable tie downs... great idea :41: I think I'll be using that idea myself someday.

Glen.
I've found them easier than addimg.cable stops to frames. More aesthetic on old steel to me.

Played with the dremel a bit this afternoon. Took off some black something it had been dipped in.

Now I'm still wondering what the long guard, with your custom paint, would look like on there. Might pull those stretched lines both ways (front and back) and really lengthen the look.

Awesome idea to try out. I will have to figure out where I put it. I apparently misplaced it.

I set up the garage with some sweet free storage, and that guard was hanging on the wall...

... Hoping to get 2 cars in the garage.

Will get that guard mocked up with some paint when I finish and figure what pattern to paint this.

Wow! Love the storage system. Hopefully said guard didn't fall behind the lockers.... ;)

Hehe, Pretty sure it isnt behind there. I put my spare plywood behind them on one end before I stacked some heavy parts on top. Can get to he plywood by pulling the wheels down. It may have made it's way out to the shed, I had some help...

One of the local high schools went lockerless and giving them away. Figured I could de-clutter the garage. Half full now.
