Yes, the ground sturates after 1/2-1" of rain over 6 hours or so and some drainage areas have problems. Most streets you have to travel on the inner most lane when it is raining hard if you want your car to stay running.I got a weather alert that there was a flood warning for the Vegas area today

I noticed two of three closed just up the road when I went to market just after dark. On the way back, there was a tow truck pulling someone out of the outside lane.
Clear and partly cloudy today. Will be brisk.

Had a thought on a different triple tree last night. Need to do some checking to see if it is a match.

Not much progress this weekend yet.
I need rod and springs to finish the seat. And need to get the welder back out sometime soon and weld in the drop-stand hole on the chain side so I can drill a larger hole centered from side to side. Then I will tap it to match the derailleur and notch it to get the correct angle.
I mocked up with a springer. NO this won't be on the build. Looks kinda cool. I just wanted to check out these bars and tire size. I think the bars are too short.
Past builds have proven my riding habits bend these Springers up.
I think the front rim is correct, Fat tire is too big though.

You can always spin the stem around to get the bars closer.
I figure any metal I fill into the hole will most likely come back out when I drill it larger.
Yes,.i really considered that. I tried that for a minute, and my buddy said, "That's not quite right, is that how it will be???"
I am now considering extending these wide bars 8" with a slight bend slightly upward and slightly inward on the extensions.
I have a donor set of bars that I ran over with the car once awhile back and broke them....

I agree. Like how the rake looks on it but that springer looks a little too fragile compared to the frame.

With Rattled, I added a 1946 Ford hood ornament as well as the light in front of the head tube.
With Glendular Fever, the bars themselves were shaped to extend forward to a point in front of the stem.
And with Sidebolt, a headlight was mounted.
I actually like the reversed stem look now, but that’s just me

Some excellent suggestions. I do have some parts to make a cool light to match the bike.
Will root around to see what I can come up with.

Yeah, I love that style. I made something similar for Glenderson but without the crossbar. They were narrow though, being the width of the drop bars I made them from, which I didn’t mind.

Mustache bars with a little bit added to them. I've yet to add a crossbar but I've stretched a few sets of bars, and some long grips like that can hide the seam.Something like this would be perfect...

Crossbar can be bolted in too.
Got a spring yesterday.
Last night, I stretched 24 of the loops to about 4' or so....
Ended up with a sprung spring...
Today I spent 20 minutes at lunch with a hacksaw and a hammer.
And started a base.
Still have some straps, shortening, drilling and.other things to go.

Dug out some mustache bars and flipped them upright and pulled the grips to their very end. These will be perfect. Thanks Guitarl!
Fixed the bridge support. Welded it in crooked last time.
Filled a hole and drilled it out.
Not happy the bit moved. Have to enlarge it a hair before I can tap it.
Nice bars. In the past I've always hidden the seam under the grips exactly as you've mocked up. Extra length sleeved and JBWelded is what I've done before and I have had no issues. I've got an idea using multiple pieces floating around in my head this year.

Tapped and mounted the derailleur. Cut in another 17" of 10 speed chain, on a brand new chain. Verified drtietrain works. [emoji48]
I did a similar thing to the bars on Goose back in 2009...
Clamped the extensions on with old seat post clamps. Held well for me with no problems... but I am a pretty sedate rider.

MC, I could see a big old triple tree on the front of that; with the fatty intact! There is a company down here in Phoenix that makes extra big cruisers. Might check out this site for some ideas...
