Dollar cost savings at work even back then. The fender hid it so all was good. I still like the smooth curves they were able to do using the electro welding processes.

Yep, same thing on my frame on all of the stamped sections.

Chainguard study...they are both aftermarket accessory items. They are both the same length. The one at the top shows up in prewar Sears Elgin catalogs. I'd probably paint it if I use one of these.

This is another possibility but mounting it is an issue, the bracket doesn't work. It's to clean to mess with the paint.

Horn experiment...I picked up the brass triple note horn body at an outdoor flea market and the Bell "honker 300" at Walmart. I did a little surgery to transplant the reed and bulb from the Bell to the old brass one. I guess it's somewhat successful but volume could be better.

I need to bond the two parts together. Not sure I'll use it on the Elgin as it has a horn in the tank.

Ed, I am going to dub your horn the "Miles Davis"...sounds like some muted jazz trumpet coming out.... Like the style of it...should look good!

Perhaps this model T bulb for sale on the 'bay' might do the trick....

Masked up rear fender for copper stripe. I pull the stripping tape after 15 minutes or so. The paint dried a little quicker due to higher temperature. It's all good though some adhesive to remove but usually tacks off with sticky side of masking tape.

The Delta Hawk light top got a coat of green yesterday.

Masked up the rear fender again for key lime center stripe. If I had a steady hand the job would be easier. I have to use the line stencil tape. Getting close to some assembly.

I got some cool repop vintage correct pedals.

I've had the winged wheel for quite a while. I watched an Elgin wing stem ornament go for big bucks on eBay a few days ago. I guess I'm thinking this is a poor mans solution. Had this old assembly wrench from some past AIYO. I'll probably need to adjust angle when the stem goes in steering tube.

I'm appreciative of all the comments and likes thus far.
