I was wondering if anyone has converted their beach cruiser 26” bike to an Ebike. I am considering converting my 1964 Cycle Truck to electric power and I thought I would ask other members if they knew who made the best and most trouble free hub motor at a reasonable cost. I’d like to use my existing rim and just change the hub. I’d also like to have a five sprocket cassette so that at a future time I could add a derailleur and have five speed capability. Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bafang hub motors have a good rep.
Most come with 6 speed cogs. I don't think you can get 5 speed cogs anymore.

Could also look at the Bafang mid drive. Have what ever gear ratio without too much trouble. Just be careful, the torque can be brutal on you drivetrain.
