I won't scare ya... I bought them straight up, nothing sent in for re-do, which I am VERY sure affects the pricing. The quality you get will be there for a long time. And with proper care, you can sell 'em later for probably what you pay for 'em now!
The one I like the best didn't cost the most.. I think I was luckier on it tham the rest. That particular seat will be going to live on this bike (shown as I bought it):
Based on the serial number, production figures, and some really interesting research (if you're into cycle-trucks!), this is strongly suspected to be a '39 model -the first year. I think that would be pretty cool, as I also have a '67 - which is the last year they were in the catalogs. The seat shown on this one will eventually go to Bob for a redo, and it is VERY similar to the one I was referring to as being used on this bike, except it has the wear tabs and a crash rail. This bike will probably be redone in the same area of color (because I like it!) and the new seat is also black
The '48 is going to be a bit more work, as you can see from the following photo (also as I bought it):
I have already located or procured the missing pieces for the most part, so there is a lot of stuff just sitting around waiting on these.
Here's the '67... just because:
Oh,well..... these things are a disease.. (And I got a pretty bad case!)
