Free Wheel Convertion 29" Genesis Onex Cruiser

Hello everyone,
I am looking to change my Onyx (Onex) cruiser to a free wheel setup. Later in the build I will be putting new front forks with disk breaks and even possibly adding rear disk breaks. but for the moment I am not worried about that. I have read a lot of helpful info on here about switching to a free wheel setup, but I cant find a thread where anyone has done it or shown how it was done (if there is one and I missed it sorry). Other then getting a new hub 48 hole hub what else do I need to check first?

Specs on the hub I was going to get, any feedback would be appreciated thanks everyone!

New member and Onex owner...long time rider starting with stingrays in '70...I used to remove the brake pads from Bendix hubs and merely stretch the compression spring out an extra half-inch or so to make the system into it's own free wheel! It worked perfectly...and then I would remove the brake arm as well.

Building wheels is not the easiest thing to do, but for starters make sure the rim and hub have the same spoke count. Then use all the specs you have from the hub and the ERD (rim diameter measured at the spoke holes) to calculate spoke length. This is done with a spoke calculator which you can find online ( my favorite one is Freespoke-http://kstoerz.com/freespoke/fullcalc ). After all parts are acquired lace up he wheel and true it up.
