Re: Villiers board tracker CHOPPED!

If all your trouble was a single tube why not just cut the particular tube in question out and redo it so it works? Many bikes have a seat stay that does not match it's twin because of pulleys or cogs. It doesn't need to match the other side, it just has to look cool and work.

Re: Villiers board tracker CHOPPED!

I understand what you said cobra, but I prefer to have it simetrical.. I'd just be looking at the difference forever..
Things are tacked up now and I'll post it up soon.
Thanks a lot and keep rollin'

Re: Villiers board tracker CHOPPED!

LOL! Back to square one huh? Looks good.. Don't under estimate eye balling stuff when you build, if it looks straight chanses are it is.. :D You could allways loop a piece of sting around the head tube and attach it to each of the dropouts and then measure the distance between the string and seat tube to line things up before welding..

Re: Villiers board tracker GOOD NEWS!

I recently built a similar board tracker. I came up with the following that ended up being perfect for a 100cc 2.5hp flathead engine. It will get you going about 29 mph at 4,200 rpm. Just thought I'd share. I think your jack shaft input sprocket needs to be at least 28T.

12 teeth on the clutch
28 teeth on the input sprocket
9 teeth on the output sprocket
44 teeth on the rear wheel sprocket

Cobra,
As you can see on the last pics, I've got a non stretched chain runnin from the clutch to the first sprocket. This happened because I've got no possibility of adjustment and because the connection misses by half a link.
What I did to get it a bit more streched was to put increase the number ot teeth on the sprocket.

What I've got now is:
10 teeth on the clutch
13 teeth on the 1st (left) sprocket
12 teeth on the 2nd (right) sprocket
36 teeth on the rear wheel

Can you guess what will happen?
Thanks a lot and keep rollin'

Thanks Dowie.
I'm gonna try it out like it is. then I'm gonna work my way on the sprockets trying to increase speed.
I've got more shots coming soon.
Thanks a lot and keep rollin'

Re: Villiers board tracker CHOPPED!

I really really like this one. It looks tough just standing still. I really love the whole tyre/wheel combo and rear hub. Cant wait to see more pics.

Re: Villiers board tracker CHOPPED!

Hey there.
Thanks man but... it's allready done..

If you take a good look and compare these to older photos, you’ll notice:
a more compact design, a shorter wheel base, a better placed seat

and a better looking dropout (correct term?).

Tonight I’m gonna put it all toghether, hoping that no new problems arise.

Re: Villiers board tracker

Thanks guys.
I appreciate the comments.

Here's a better look at the frame now. I painted the fork to match the rims. I also welded the foot stands

This is the mockup for the foot brake. I'm diggin' the allthread rod look of it.
