This topic and one that appeared then vanished a couple of days ago has me wondering something.I look at this site daily . However ,I also frequent two other bicycle sites. The reason I look at different sites is I like other "areas" of bicycling besides ratrods too.I like riding and messing with three speed bikes and others that are not ratrod materials , I guess.I am suprised no one has complained about some of the "off topic" posts that I , and others have put on here . My question is , after reading this post , and the other one ,should I pick one site to use and not clutter up the others? :?:
I believe the consensus is that this is more of a custom bike site than strictly ratrod.

I too, am a member of another bicycle forum...One that only has about 350 members. Because I also like to restore old bikes as well as build customs. But I spend 99% of my time here because I have made some genuine friends here! For me this feels like a real community of well, friends. And having joined in the conversations with you thom, I'd hate to loose you input. So I hope you and any others who've been around here, especially longer than I have, will continue to be a part of this awesome community that Steve has opened up to us.

I also heard mention of pie and ice cream...can we choose our own? If so i'll take pumpkin pie and chocolate ice cream... I know I haven't said too much since I joined the forum, and I am also a member of a couple other bicycle forums. One I have not really been to in a while, but this one and the other I check every day. I don't know if I am anywhere near the 1% level or not, but 1% is better than nothing...I guess.

Guilty of lurking a lot lately but still spend quite a bit of time here, just dont have much to say sometimes .
It is time well spent just the same so you in the 20% category just keep on talkin and I'll keep reading :D

This is after all ....I'm almost afraid to say it...just a bike forum....Some are a bigger part of it , and take it very serious...and others are members just for the entertainment value of it. I think we all get out of it differant things ,and on differant levels. I watch it alot . I love to see the things that people come up with. I also try to entertain the masses with differant builds. Everybody is on differant levels of skills here. Sometimes its hard to post on somebody changing an old bike around. Its hard not to get too excited because ,someone changed their chain to a new one. I try to remember that the guy that hasnt got a clue as to how to remove his crank is the guy that will be designing and building something fantastic someday. I think sometimes we are all guilty of forgetting where we came from. So post dont post its just for fun anyway.
