So I sold my Monark Silver King on ebay & when I was taking the bike apart I noticed it needed new bearings for the goose neck. When I shipped the bike out I sent the guy an e-mail explaining this & refunded him $15 to get some bearing. He gets the bike & sends me a NASTY e-mail telling me I said the bike rides great & where in the world is he going to find bearings for this old bike & that he knows nothing about old bikes. He is so PISSED.
So that's what I get for trying to be nice. I just can't believe people sometimes!!!!!!!!!

You must be joking, lol. That is pathetic... but I've met people like that before. Sometimes I wonder what's wrong with certain people, not on this forum though!!! I once had a Craigslist customer come over in the driveway honking his horn. Of course I was looking out the window waiting. I talk to him and he was going on about how I gave him the wrong directions when I told him to type in my address on mapquest, hahaha. I was only 15 years old at the time, lol. When he was sitting in his car about to leave, I took a picture of him out my front window to use as a BB gun target in the future. Of course I haven't done that yet, my Red Ryder broke. :x

lol, anyways... there are some mean people in this world but overall, people are nice. :D

Yeah this guy is an idiot. He was pissed that I gave him $15 back. He shouldn't have told him it needed bearings. He wouldn't have noticed anyway!!!

The sad thing is that he'll end up giving you bad feedback because you were trying to be nice. File a complaint against him if his emails contain foul language.

Always treat people the way you would like to be treated. Too bad he couldn't take the hint. Some people are so ungreatful.

What a jerk,he is.Thats a reason why I dont sell complete bikes on ebay anymore. They have too much control with the positive feed back rules and they think they have you by the nuts.

I can picture him signing up here later: "Hi, I just got this old bike on ebay, and I am looking for some bearings for it, this seemed like the place to go for info..."

without an intro....

that just stinks. do you have any old bearing that you can send him to shut him up? or did you send him a link to somewhere he can buy them?
I'm sure somebody on here will have an old grreasy set that will fit. Do you have the old bearings for measurements to make sure they will fit the old cups on that bike?

having been gooned on the net before, i can see why dude would be alittle upset. while we think nothing of repairing bikes, there are those peeps that dont have the skills, tools or space to repair bikes.

you advertised a "great ride" only to sell him a bike that needs work to be a "great ride." ($15 cheaper)
if he is one of the above mention peeps, this could be a huge problem or a $10 to $50 repair depending on which bike shop he decides to visit. (which the $15 might or might not cover) not to mention some bearings require specialty tools/large wrenches which many non bike repairing peeps dont have.

i don't imagen its the cost of the bearings or work involved, he probably has the idea that maybe, perhaps you intentionally mis-represented the item.
(i'm not saying you did, but the buyer doesn't know this or you for that matter)
if its happened to him before (possibly even a few times) well short fuse time.lol

dude filled his end of the agreement (ie paid you in full)you didnt (ie delivering a great riding bicycle)
now everybodies ripping on dude? that don't seem right to me, i only see one person in breech of contract. :).
