I haven’t had a motorcycle in a long time but here is my first. Honda 80 I bought for myself on my birthday when I was 12. My mom tested it to make sure it was solid. Yes, my Mom! She was a rider along with my dad. My first rides were in the womb. Here is my Honda 80 and my mom’s Suzuki 400! My older brother sitting on my dads bike in the corner of the pic.

I took a demo ride on this bike Saturday and now I’m trying to convince myself not to buy it, I’ve got no room in the garage…View attachment 277371

Get it! Do it! This is your conscience speaking. You don't actually need any space. Buy this bike
and the space will reveal itself! Now go! And ride!! 😏 You know you want to. Go.

Yeah - do it. If I was buying a bike tomorrow it would be a Triumph Scrambler 1200.

C. 2005 and I was working for Kiwi Rider Magazine - we took the 885 on a hard-core adventure ride - and it nailed it. At the time much of the world press was saying 'don't take it off your driveway'. We gave it hell and it was great.

I started a thread over on ADVrider about it - and it's had a couple of million views and thousands of replies since.
I've wanted one ever since.

Wellington NZ after the ride:

The stuntman and I swapped bikes for pics. The bloke riding is actually the Yellow Power Ranger. True.

I see these retro styled bikes and think back to when I wanted one. Instead I bought the real deal and rebuilt it.

1974 Ducati 750GT. I figured it would be worth less than I had into it when I was done, but a new bike would depreciate too, right?

About three years and a few dollars later I had this. Funny thing, while I was rebuilding it, prices on roundcases skyrocketed. I ended up even making a few bucks on it when I finally sold it.

In 1993, Ducati sold a 900ss Super Light in the USA. I wanted one BAD but didn't pull the trigger. Later I looked for one but could never justify the price. Not long after I gave up on the idea, I was trying to sell a bike due to buying a new one. The ad said "NO TRADES". I got offered a trade. I started writing a reply turning it down. Long story short, this ended up in my garage and I had to sell another bike to pay for the one I had ordered. This is the day I got it home. It had been sitting for 20 years and took more time/money than I expected to put back on the road.

But I did get it back on the road eventually. Finally got a Super Light!

Here’s where my racing career ended. Racing mini bikes 😂. Elbow banging battles on 50-125cc machines

Broken hand, thumb, wrist and foot in morning practice. Make a cast out of duct tape for my wrist and finished the day in 2nd overall 😁

Wife showed up late that day (8 months pregnant) and was less than pleased. I retired the next day after 28 years of racing

That SP is actually an 888 SP0 that belongs to a friend/neighbor/coworker (when I used to work)

I had a CR back in '95. An SP later. And now a 900ss trackbike that I've never ridden and may sell...

Yep sorry. Thought I had it typed out as SP0

Had a former coworker and good friend that had one. He worked for Yoshimura
