Going to work on the tank in a bit. Pulled out a couple of light projects. I converted the gray bullet style to LED by taking apart one of those 5$ mini flashlights. I glued the LED section to the back of the lens bezel and wired the battery pack to it with push button switch. The headset mount is rusty, the case had been painted gray. The glass lens is near perfect.

Maybe...

The second light is supposedly a Model T spot light. I put an LED bulb in it and added terminal contact using plumbing parts, copper tube and cap. I need to come up with a battery pack.

Basically coated the tank halves with Bondo and sanded smooth. Shot them with primer.

Thinking the color will attempt to match existing red patina and dirty white with an accent line to match rims.

I love this tank and the overall flow of the whole bike!
What a well thought out build!!!

I took right side tank that I cut wrong and did a quick experiment with it. I had painted it khaki a couple of days ago. I used some 6mm Tamiya Masking Tape to for the accent line. Then I masked off the top and painted the bottom with Navajo White. As soon as it was dry to touch I masked it and painted the top with a Paprika color which is close to frame color. Thus now I know that I can pull it off. It doesn't have to be perfect as it is a Rat Rod.

The finished tank will still have the simulated headers and get some faux patina. I appreciate the previous likes and positive comments. No welder access here so iAM Higgins is staying pretty basic this year.

That matches the color and vibe of the bike very well!

Hey thanks, think I'm feeling the vibe also. I added the khaki line to front fender dart also. Not sure there is a plan with this bike, it is just evolving as I go. My wife has been picking the colors. Still need to check out chain.

Potential headlight battery holder, flee market find.

Anyone know what this was used for originally?

this thing is sweet so far

The mock up of that tank looks great on that bike. I can't wait to see the ones with the pipes all painted up.

To cool and humid to paint today, maybe tomorrow the tank will progress.
I test fit the battery holder on the seat tube. I would like to have the knob on top become the off/on switch. I think the Model T light may become a taillight if I can get the bracket to take on the offset needed to mount on rear stay.
