The pedal adapters are too long. I’ll only grind them down if it interferes with the chain.

One of the chain ring bolts was missing. Whitworth size and threading so it’s unobtainable. I used a self threading bolt from my junk. It was a close fit. Since I’m never changing the chainring I put red thread locker on everything. Heat will remove the red locker anyway. These bolts come loose and they’re hard to get at to tighten.

My skip tooth chain is too short. I have more but I dread looking for it in my mess.

I couldn’t find any of my skip tooth chains including a NOS one. I found a bunch of pieces and made it them into one. Three master links.

This was a two hour struggle.

I have this other BSA 1932 Gold Metal.

I forgot I ordered stickers for it. I found two I can use on this bike. They were in my Sox drawer. Ha.

This is a fearsome bike to ride. I’m 5’8” and I have a lot of uncomfortable weight on my crotch when my toes are over extended. To get off I have to find a hill side, and then lean the bike. These things were called tall bikes and many were much taller. Fixed gearing makes it even worse to ride such a tall bike.

Tried my best to color match the paint. It should help with both mounting and dismounting.

I put two BSA stickers on the frame. It looked and felt nice out so I went for a motorcycle ride to forget about working on bicycles or cleaning up my mess. I saw quite a few mountain bikers. I stopped at an aid station to see what was up. It’s The Crusher. It’s a multi day back country ride that circles the western half of the Upper Peninsula. It’s rough, stream crossings, gps course, mud, gravel, two tracks much in wilderness. You sleep rough. I got to Lake Michigan and got caught in a bad hail storm. My arms got cold. Hail hit my neck. When I got back the tail light wires had gotten cut from the vibration. I spent as much time fixing as riding. These old Triumphs are heart breakers.
