What a deal today!!!!!!!
Found this perfect condition Fat Tire Beer Bike neon sign. She was asking $30. As we were standing it up to test it, my arm touched the glass tubing and it shocked me (not bad). She was so flustered and felt so bad, she gave it to me for $10 when I told her that I still wanted it. I hope it isn't too big for my shop.

Even at 30 that would have been a steal their 350 new from new belgium. I never find cool stuff like that cheap.

Re: Kingfish254's Finds 10/20 Fat Tire Bike Neon Sign

My buddy came by with his Felt Heritage Cruiser. This is the one that he gave me the blue rims from when he put his Trek Nexus 7 rims on it. Great light frame. He hasn't used it in a while and wanted me to tune it up for a friend to borrow.

The plastic seat pan was busted so I replaced it with a big cruiser saddle from the Phat Chopper I had picked up.
After I was finished with his bike I decided to take apart the felt seat and save the springer base and components for possible future use. I like the old school front spring on this seat frame.

All it takes is waking up early on Saturday mornings. You never know whats out there.

Re: Kingfish254's Finds 10/20 Fat Tire Bike Neon Sign

Worked on the sign a bit today. I found the reason for the zapping. The read glass tubing that makes up the bike frame is broken on the lower section where the chain connect to the chainring. :(

I wa able to bypass this section with the electrical wiring. Now all of the neon works except for the bike frame. Still pretty darn cool for me.

The whole piece is almost 30" tall. The place I need to put it in my shop only has about 21" of clearance. I think I am going to split out the FAT TIRE lettering section and mount that to the side of the bike instead of under it. I may even rotate the lettering 90 degrees.

Here are photos of it lit up. You can also see the half working Bass ale neon light that I got for $5 earlier this year.

Take that sign to a neon shop and get it fixed! Gary

From what I have research online, it isn't possible to patch neon glass tubes.
I like it fine as it is for my shop though.

Patch, no. Replace busted section, yes.

Correct and that's the problem. The "busted section" is the entire red portion of the bike. I would have to have that whole section reblown or replaced.

You got stacks of cash... go for it!

That's a possibility, but I really just like it as it is.
