Re: Kingfish254's Finds 5/13 Surprises in the Mail

CWC and I traded for his wicked Burled Fir Higgins Tank before, so we did another trade. I wanted his Elgin skirt guards and I also wanted some strips of the burled fir to make some matching fenders and to use as Higgins skirt guard louver inserts. When I opened the box it had pedals, grips, very cool blue lense speedo, vintage box of german spokes and nipples, etc.

The Raleigh (Union) pedals with clear reflectors are a sweet score! Should be 1971 only.

Re: Kingfish254's Finds 5/14 1952 Pontiac Trunk Trim

Getting something unusual here on RRB. Trunk lid trim from a 1952 Pontiac. Not sure what this will end up being, but I can see a tank, or wraparound chainguard, or a pteradactyl,,,,,

Re: Kingfish254's Finds 5/14 1952 Pontiac Trim Cool Hunkametal

Cool, I have my eye on a Pontiac Chieftain just like that but brown. Poor thing's been sitting in a field for several years with the hood open. One of these days I'm gonna ask about it.

Re: Kingfish254's Finds 5/16 DBubbleGuy Rocks Again

A few packages came in today. As I was opening them up I came across a BIG red light. I didn't order a BIG red light?????? Turns out DBubbleGuy (Felix) decided to send me another surprise goody. This thing will make an awesome taillight and it is some sort of eatern bloc military surplus which makes it even cooler. YOU ROCK FELIX!!!!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!
GIFTED as a build off prize

I also recieved my handlebar horn (SOLD), torpedo grips, and 1955 0000 tag (SOLD).

What a fun day. especially since I also sold a $43 bike for $180 and a $25 accordion for $180. Topped off the night with a Ode to Mercy Imperial Brown Ale.

It's too shiny for FireWing, but I had to hold it up to see.

Re: Kingfish254's Finds 5/18 More Cowbell

I had an excellent yard sale day today.
The same family that sold me the carbon Trek last year for $400 sold me this new unsused wheelset for cheap.
(SOLD)

Then I got this stainless steering wheel for only $2 (sold one like it last year for $70).
(SOLD)

Then I found this sinister springer fork

Then this unknown (maybe Raleigh or Roadmaster for $10 (it has a script R on the fork crown))
(SOLD)

And finally a cool bike bell, horn, metalflake paint, and of course,,,,, MORE COWBELL (this may end up as my front fender mudflap

Re: Kingfish254's Finds 5/27 Car Tailight

I have one of those too . but , sadly they are left and right , and too offset for bike use . Nice jewel on it though

What about if you cut the other side to match the profile? Do you know what car they come from?

Re: Kingfish254's Finds 5/27 Car Tailight

it's two peice and the cutout is angled and the lense is offset too. It could be made to fit , but would still look crooked . Mine is the same side :?
