Heres my newest hawthorne I recently just bought this actual bike and a couple phantoms off a local guy here on canada how it got from no talent clown to here is beyond me! I stumbled across this pic while looking for info on its year. Pretty crazy but i can tell its the same its got the exact same paint ground off in same spots. But my question is anyone know what year or model it is? Its got the early style truss rod with brace on the fork. But i know nothing about hawthornes!

Paid 30 bucks for this one TODAY! Went lookin' on Google images to find out what it was and ended up here. So if ya love ratrods and plan on building one and you find a forum that supports your newest project, whadda ya do?
Me, I joined up! Would love some more info tho...
I'm thinkin' late 30s early 40's? She's got some issues but nothin' I cant fix. Missing her badge too.

What do you guys think I need opinions! 1941 CWC built Hawthorne! I have a troxel sprung saddle, Set back post, bendix rear wheel, and new departure front! Duro tires. I think I really like it how it's built right now but opinions are great.

That thing has some mean stance to it!

Here's a Hawthorne I picked up at an auction earlier this year. It's pretty straight and only a little surface rust. I plan to respoke the wheels, clean it up and have it as part of my rider fleet. The Goodyear Wingfoot middleweight tires are still in ok condition. Anyone have any idea of what year this may be? I was thinking late fifties/early sixties. I'm sure it's not worth much, but it looks cool and I don't have to worry about my friends knocking it over after a few beers.
