Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (Casino)

hint for Yooth. I know you know this, but your new GoPro has time-lapse setting.
set up a time lapse, and keep only one shot of yourself. (don't tell anybody of all the shots you dumped!) :D :D

My profile picture on Facebook is of Sheryl and myself after a charity ride. I had the GoPro strapped to my helmet.
I set it up to take a shot every 3 seconds, and asked another rider to take our picture.
He really looked at me weird when I handed him my helmet and told him to just point it at us for a few seconds.

Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (Down To The River)

Yesterday Nova and I rode down to the river. On the way back we took a side trip to the casino for lunch. I'll have a hokey video to post later.
Here's a few stills.

So, what did you do with your winnings?

Your wife seems to do really good on the trails with those skinny tires, do they ever limit her?

(I'm the guy who "thumbs up" your videos)

Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (River & Casino Video)

enjoyed the ride video. great weather - looks like it started out a bit chilly. thanks for posting.

our Sunday ride was finger freezing at first, and layer stripping by noon. 38 miles - great weather here too!

Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (River & Casino Video)

I really like the first pic from your ride
You have a great way of photographing just a piece of what you see and make it stylish
Blue Sky, Grey irrigation equipment, Brown field, Green grass, all lined up 8)

Like the video with great music

I hadn't looked through this thread in a while. Always cool to see your great photography and to see the place you roll hither and yonder.
Such a cool thread!!

Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (In To The Big City)

yoothgeye - Her winnings paid for our lunch and beverages. We're not really into gambling but the casino is a nice bike ride and gives us a destination. In the few times we've been there that's the first I think either of us has won. We never play with more than a few dollars. Penny and quarter games.
Gravel roads are the worst she's ridden the bike on so far and it really hasn't been much of a hindrance. I would like to put a little wider tires on it though. Thanks for the thumbs ups!

jerrykr -Your Sunday ride sounds like ours. We've had some great mild weather here. Always seems to be pretty good wind though.

MplsCoaster - Thanks Steve. That shot (like a lot of mine) was taken while riding with me just pointing the camera back behind me. Got lucky. You ought to see how many bad photos I have to sift through to find the few good ones.

kingfish254 - Thanks I appreciate that.

Yesterday I rode in to the South end of the big city to meet a friend for lunch. After lunch I rode farther up to the North end of the city before turning back home. Was a little over 30 miles.

The Orpheum theatre one of the finest remaining examples of atmospheric school of theatre architecture which was developed during the first part of the 1900′s. There were two major schools of design: the standard school derived its form and decoration from nineteenth century opera houses and the vaudeville theatre traditions. The atmospheric school concentrated on creating interiors that could provide the patron with the feeling he inhabited a landscape setting.

From their website. I had been misspelling it theater. I guess either spelling is acceptable?

Thanks.

The theater (or theatre depends on you're pronunciation  ) is fantastic inside (from the website)

Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (Snow Ride)

Thanks Steve.

I hadn't been on a bike in probably 2 weeks. The week leading up to the big snowstorm I was sick and then there was, well... the big snowstorm. Today I did get out and ran some errands around town.
Lucky for me the streets were clear and eerily void of traffic because my attempts to ride the snow covered path didn't go so well and left hideous looking snow angels where I squirmed and flailed trying to get off the ground and back on the bike before someone seen me.

Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (Snow Ride)

Wow, the snow disappeared fast on the street. Do they use salt?

Great pics as usual.

Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (Snow Ride)

Sorry to here you've been sick and not been on a bike in 2 weeks
Great to hear you did some snow riding!! :D
The red tires, black frame, and white snow on the rims look awesome!

No kickstand needed

I would have paid money to see you trying to get up after making a snow angel

Re: LocoJoe's Most Recent Ride (Snow Ride)

Cman Thanks. I think they use sand. They do a good job of removing it and it's melting pretty fast.

Youthgeye I was so embarrassed I hurried and fled the scene the couple times I fell but for a split second it crossed my mind to pull out the camera and snap myself tangled in the bike laying in a snow pile.

Thanks Steve.

I thought about seeing if I had some more aggressive tires to put on but was too lazy.
