That's right folks, it's biking season again in Connecticut and we're kicking it off with a nice ride to the beach!

Join the New London CT Custom Bike Club for the first official ride of the year. We're meeting at 12 noon on Sunday May 30th, at Bean & Leaf coffee shop, 13 Washington St., New London, CT 06320.

All road bikes, cruiser bikes, 10-spds, 5-spds, street bikes, comfort bikes are welcome. Everything from lightweights to heavyweights.

Join us for a nice 9 mile round trip to Ocean Beach Park and back. The ride is free and all are welcome.

We'll be looking for you!

Perfect weather predicted for the ride!

NWS says this:

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 71.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 54.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 75.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 57.

See you folks there. If anyone wants to meet at my house and ride down to meet at the coffee shop, we'll be planning to do that about 11:30AM.

Sunday was just about as perfect a day for riding as there could have been.

The temps hovered in the high 70's... light wind.... bright sun... and chilly water at the beach.

Enjoying the shade along Pequot Avenue (Mitchell College beach area):

Freezing our toes off in the chilly Atlantic- One of our club members allowed us to visit "his" beach, and beyond it you can see the incredibly busy Ocean Beach:

Memorial Day weekend is also the time for our biggest local motorcycle ride, Pappy's Run. 100's of motorcycles were getting ready to head out, and their ride leaders held up traffic for our little group to pass. Pretty cool!

Nice to see the folks who made it, and we'll see you on another ride if you couldn't make this one.
