Can't wait for early next month, going to check on those vintage parts. And also going to get some metal for the sissybar and stand. Still riding it daily.

Awww, I thought that I would have the only folding bike in the competition.

Oh well. I like what you've done to it so far, that just means that I'll have to make mine even crazier! :D
I looked and don't see your bike. What's it's name?

Well, I made it by the the vintage place after my VA appointment. I asked for a sissy bar and didn't expect anything other than the usual. But I couldn't pass up this big sissy bar and also picked up a drop stand. So I won't make a sissy bar, this one will do. It's wider than any I've seen.

I mounted the drop stand, it went right in the top dropouts. One side needs a little reaming for the second bolt. I picked up the heaviest one they had so it can be a wheelie bar also. I'm using 2 bolts per side so it can handle the stress of a wheelie. Now I'm hunting for a couple of skateboard wheels.

Well, it's a good thing I already have my banana seat and sissy bar. The VA thought they overpaid me and are taking half my retirement pay to offset what was already deducted from my retirement pay. It's a long story, but it'll take 3 months to get it right. Then there will be a big party with the back pay, but there's next to no bike budget now. I just laugh about it and file the paperwork, it's a government agency, and take a bike ride. Good thing I live in the Philippines, I'd be living on the street in the US.
I probably will skip a paint job, so this will be a ratty muscle bike. I like the old coppertone style paint anyway. But my plan for fork extensions may not be too pricy, so I'm hoping that will happen.

I wire brushed the rusty sissy bar, it helped a little. Good for a ratty look. Then tried the seat. I still need to lower the seat stem, it was bent from me riding it all the way up, so It'll need some help getting any lower. I oiled it and tapped in down with a block of wood. I'll do more tomorrow, getting dark here.

That's a good score Barry! Was it easy to find Mr. Lee's new shop, I haven't been to the new store myself. Were you able to get some other cool stuff? :)

I also picked up 3 fenders for my sidecar bike. It was hard to find, but a bike patrol team escorted us for a couple miles to find it. Then we went to his place, the first place was the his japanese bike shop. That's the one listed on FB. I made a thread on the trip. I was looking to pick up some frames but the ones I wanted were spoken for, and he's still inventorying everything. It's just as well, money's too tight right now.
