Awesome I want one now. Only thing I see against it is it looks like the sidehack is permanently attached to the bike and not removable.

Now you can pick up the Thruster fixie for $100.

I picked one up for parts. I wanted to build a non-conformist fixie for the heck of it. I got one of these and used the wheelset with tires, the chain, seat, brake/s and handle bars on my rusty 3 speed Sears frame. (pic is before the bars and brakes)

As much as I hate the Thruster Fixie, it is a good price for parts (normal for Wally bikes) but I think if I bought it I'd have to put the red tire on the red rim and yellow on yellow.

Great bike review by a guy who seems to know next to nothing about bikes.

What you meant to say was that some guy who knows nothing about bikes gave this one a good review IN THE STORE! haha Wow, I hate to think that he is actually making money on the internet.

I've been thinkin' about it, and I bet they put that goo that passes for lube on dime store bikes to keep the bearings from flying, as they slam the parts together.

target's new line looks promising. i want the airwalk cruiser, it looks to be the same frame as the OP. none of the cooler bikes on the site say that they are sold in-store tho. u gotta order them. thats a dumb business model but itll keep some lowlife from installing the forks backwards i guess

Kmart has a few nice ones I like too but most are online not in the stores.

I picked up that third one online from Sears; 26" Victory Cruiser" on earth day for free. Fully assembled it is light and has good specs. I rode it today for 12 good miles and am happy with it. Free ? Yes, here's how. Bikes were on sale, then additional 10% off for Earth Day brought the price down below $200. I use a Sears rewards credit card, always pay it off in full. Auto insurance, home insurance, everything. Those points add up.Redeemed for a $200 gift card that covered the bike and sales tax, free shipping to store. Offering this info to readers as a way to buy that bike that you want.

I gotta say their cruiser selection is alot better, even though it mainly consists of Cranbrooks dressed up like Kareoke, Nell Lusso and Panama Jack. Now their chinese Schwinns (hurts seeing those two words side by side) are lookin descent latley.

2008 Point Beach 7speed (aluminum frame too, got it used off a coworker who never rode it and knew I liked bikes, so he sold it to me for $10 (and I knew it was not stolen for a fact). Gave him $20 so I wouldn't feel guilty.

I gotta know How does the thruster perform they have one at the local walmart for 89.98 and I know for a fact no one will buy it if I don't I'm just not sure about the quality of the "flip-flop" hub that can switch from fixed to single speed. I really want one just to see if I would like a fixie.

That's the cheapest new bike you'll find to try it out. A local guy rides one, but he keeps it on the freewheel side. I talked him into flipping it, that lasted about a day, he didn't like fixed. It's a different thing! haha

Alright hopefully by the time I save up enough money its not gone if not Ill have to order one. Anyone know how well built it is I'm not ready to plop down $100 for a bike that is just gonna break down on me all the time.

Frow what I have read, it's just as good as any other cheap bike they sell, if you ride it like a normal person would ride a bike and use the brakes. If you want to ride it like a hardcore fixie rider and do skids to stop without using the brakes, the hub won't hold up and it will break quickly. It would be worth it to get the feel of riding fixed, but don't count on it to stop you in traffic without using the brakes, or hold up to any hard riding. Just as you wouldn't expect a $100 mountain bike to hold up to any critical mountain bike terrain.

I found this 7-speed Schwinn Admiral at WalMart for $159 and was going to buy it for my daughter.

I checked CL first and found one that was literally like new for $100. The seller had only used it once, attached to a baby trailer, and parked it for a year before listing it for sale. The tires were flat from sitting, and when I got it home I found out that both front and rear brakes were rubbing the rims - I can't imagine what it would be like trying to ride with both brakes dragging while hauling a baby trailer. No wonder the poor lady had parked it. Anyway, it is a fun bike for $100, classic style if not really a rat, but close enough to follow the wife and I around on our Electra tandem. It rolls a LOT better on the road than her old mountain bike with the fat knobbies.
