The shifter is an issue...
Right now all I have is a thumb shifter...
But I did just lay down my third coat of sanding primer on the pods...

Found my headbadge on eBay... 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"
Hope it gets here in time... from Canada.

Well I will share that the first attempt to mate a whammy bar with a shifter arm was not a success... probably the sum of a junk Chinese whammy bar and trying to tap aluminum with a screwgun. I did find another shifter body and I have more arms, even a cool flat chrome one from an old Teisco. So it ain't over yet.

Confucius already said: “If you make a mistake and do not correct it, this is called a mistake.”
So keep on trying! You'll get your whammy shifter!

You're on the right track, I was thinking a Teisco bar might work better, then I looked up at my wall, and my ES335. Bigsby???

Yessir. Teisco surely copied Bigsby's designs.
I just need to step back a minute, let it all soak in.
First layer of paint went down on the pods, so the build continues.
I also sussed out the guitar rack, I need some locknuts...
Next two days I'm involved in an intense 20 hr motorcycle class.
When it's done I walk into a DMV and they hand me my M class license.

Carl. :rockout:

Sweetness!!

Seatpost! is that from a crank arm, Carl ?

I was working on a looong curved one on a little BMX build I'm doing, and even reinforced it ala suggestion from Luke, and the first time I sat on it , it bent like a noodle.
I weigh in about 169 lbs, a relative lightweight.

wondering ? how such a radical bend doesn't collapse.

Aha...I see now...didn't have my computer glasses on this morning.
very nice.
Oh well, I went and made one out of an old one piece crank for another project today...turned out good.

love the bike

Love the idea of the flat bar shifter.
I envision tuners mounted on either side, but that might be a bit to much.
