That thing is looking fantastic. If you're not careful, you may have another winner on your hands.

Thanks man. I like the way things are falling into place, but I'm just worried about finishing.
Too many cool builds going on, I'm not even going to speculate where my build or others fall out in the voting.

:21:
I don't have enough hair to make a single ducktail, let alone a triple ducktail!!
Oh, the harsh truth! I'm only 35 and heading that way too...

Luke.

Today was a super exciting day for me. I received another signature RRB part in the mail to add to SaltHammer.

A few weeks ago I posted up a Huffy 26" Rail-like frame that I got in a trade with Tyler (@American Vintage Bicycle Supply ). One of my favorite builders, @karfer67 expressed interest in it. Adam is a great guy with killer fab skills and I have always loved the bars he had on his famous Galt Town Hooligan (Winner of BO4).

Well I knew that he recently made a set like these for a client of his (the new owner of Firewing to be specific), so I offered up the Huffy for a set of those bars. Today I received them from Adam's skunkworkz.

I couldn't wait to get home to play with them so I tested them on the Fat Tire Felt

These babies are sweet!!!!
Once I got home it didn't take me long to test them on SaltHammer

First I tried them up even though I was pretty certain they would end up down. They work well up but not what I was shooting for.

Flipped them over and I was grinning from ear to ear. BEAUTIFULLY BAD TO THE BONE BARS!!!!!
Thanks for the killer bars Adam!!!

I sent the pics to Adam to see what he thought, and he quickly saw that I was using too tall a stem for this setup. He was so right. I swapped out for a Schwinn drop stem and everything just flowed even better!! It's great to have a second set of eyes on your build. I love how the light just tucks away between the bars.

Wondering how it would look with the "riser" portion of the bars horizontal instead of the grips. :39:

I'll try it for fun tomorrow, but I think that will put the grips about even with the downtube.

Wow! The new stem really does the trick for positioning and stance. Love how the end of the handlebar lines up with the top tube in pic #2 of your last post.

Imelda Barcos got hisself a new pair of shoes! :21:

Imelda "Bar"cos, that's a good one!!!! :rofl::21:

Those handle bars are perfect. Very cool!

Thanks man, I've always loved the similar ones on Hooligan. Why use something ordinary when something extraordinary comes along.

Didn't get as much time on the bike as I wanted today. Spent a lot of time staring at it and deciding on paint. I haven't been feeling the fender stripes for a few days now. Ever since I put the fenders back on and really got to looking at the whole bike, the more I like the clean painted fenders. So no Salt-N-Pepa here.

On to the chainguard. It's paint was just too beat up to keep the old silver. So I sanded it and then used my cobblers anvil to try and hammer out a few of the dings and dangs.

Followed by a couple of coats of the fender paint (Rustoleum Forged Hammered Antique Pewter). We'll wait until I can test it on the bike, but I'm don't think there will be any accent color on the guard either.

Started playing around with pedals. The Schwinn bow pedals had one slightly bent axle. Went through my pedals and found these spray bombed Primo fatties.

Disassembed them (and didn't loose a single loose ball bearing).
Stripped the paint
Polished them up a little
Greased and reassembled them

I'm digging these.

Those pedals fit, look super fast and platforms are so darn comfy.
I'm loving everything so far, way to make a lemon into ratrod lemonade.

Thanks brother. As you can tell, I am really loving SaltHammer II. I haven't even been thinking about the FloCycle frame.

Here you go my friend. It actually looks pretty sick.
