The DX? should have a serial number to show if it's a 52 model.

I looked up the serial number on bikehistory.com, and found out the manufacture date (Oct 7 or 8, 1952), but that doesn't identify model.

Serial number on the dropout or BB?
With a curved lower top tube, only the Equipped Standard D-13 model is shown in the catalog. All the other 26" bikes have a flat bar or cantilever frame. There's a chance the catalog wasn't correct with the illustrations but that's probably what it is. From the 52 catalog:

Here's a barn find I just picked up while on vacation in Va. It's a March of 68 Schwinn Racer 3 spd. Appears to be all original and I have cycled it through the gears and they do work. I've not decided if I'm going to keep it or not.
