I thought about keeping the purple on the frame but it was just too old and beat up. I like the red quite a bit better. I ran out of paint so it’s a little thin in places but it’s still going to be a fun ride.

I like to paint under the deck so I don’t risk getting overspray on the cars. And it’s perfectly healthy, it only causes cancer in California. Wait…
A little time this afternoon and the paint is dry so here we go.
The bars I had on here pulled back too far so I went back to the original handlebars. A little WD40 and steel wool cleaned up most of the rust.

Swapped on a different rear tire and front tire and wheel.
I’m a little nervous to say so but brake cables and struts are all that’s left before I risk my bone integrity to test ride this thing.

Well I’ll be, it actually works! It’s actually really easy to ride and it’s a hoot!
I got some lower poundage struts, 100lb vs the 120lb I had on there, and still not able to compress them all the way down to chopper mode. I searched for how to make an adjustable rocker mount but google only turned up hot rod engine rockers. Very cool, but not what I need here. Can any of you engineering oriented guys point me in the right direction? I'd really like it to function as intended.
I can't help you with the engineering questions, but I can say you were 'strutting your stuff' riding up high! Kudos to you for even trying that feat! I pretty much always keep my 'feats' on the ground these days.

Yep, very fun. Hopefully I can sort out chopper mode next weekend but I’ll get it eventually.
We are counting on you to figure this out. You know we all want to do this.
I just reread the respective part of the instructable. It looks like the only way to get at it is to continue guessing... But calculating with about 66% of your weight as pressure force for the shocks should about get you there...
Yep, I’m hoping, for sure.
That’s my read on it too. I just need to figure out a better leverage for these struts I think. I’ve got some seat post adapters on the way so I can try a laid back BMX seat post to see if that helps.I just reread the respective part of the instructable.
