DOES THIS NANNER MAKE MY BUTT LOOK FAT!!!!!

This arrived while I was boxing up the Stimulus Package, so I had some fun mockups trying to figure it out when I got home.

The width is about perfect. Plenty strong. The bottom piece is longer than I will need, but it gives me plenty to play with.

My plan is to have the top piece horizontal. So I plan to curve the lower section to match the curve of the frame. I'll probably also shorten the lower section to allow the seat mount to be farther back.

First pass of mocks I just let it sit at an angle

You might want to get another one of those springs if you can.
Cutting and reshaping spring steel can affect the way it moves. (A.K.A. the springiness)

I got a plan for that as well.

Back from dinner. Curry fish claypot was AWESOME!!!

Propped up the spring so that the top section is more where I want it to be. Once again, my plan is to bend the lower section down and curved to match the frame. The lower section will also be shortened to fit.

Here is the Ruff seatpan with the mega moon bars.

Here is something that I may revisit down the road on this build. The last time I used a Girvin (starsNbars BO9), I did a faux beehive springer front end. Since then I have thought about doing a faux Monark springer front end. It may happen for SteamRoller.

For those that like the flipped Felbys, here they are again with the Ruff seat. Maybe a bit low if this is the seat position.

So I flipped the Felbys back to their normal position and kept the Ruff saddle on.
I have to say the swoop of the bars and the swoop of the tractor spring accentuate each other well.

I like that last configuration the best, and I'm not even a huge fan of the Felby bars. But that Ruff seat pan is BORN for this build! And the tractor spring is a great fit as well.

I have a pair of 'mustache' bars, that are nearly flat ( little rise at all) and sweep forward and then sweep back towards the rider. Somebody on here ( I think it was @GuitarlCarl ) added on to a pair of bars like that to bring the sweep back to a rear ward riding position like the Steamroller is sporting.

Just my .02.

Everything @OddJob pointed out x2. That seat is so good on this build! And I was wondering about mustache bars and how they might look

Good points. I like the Ruff pan, but haven't decided on it just yet. Still more mockups to post.
The bars that @GuitarlCarl made are some of my RRB faves.

For fun, here is a seat that I can officially retire from the selection pool for this build. The mega spring Lepper saddle just doesn't work well with the tractor spring AT ALL!!!!!

The banana seat is still in the running. I have the most fun when I am mocking this one up. After getting the tractor spring better positioned with all of the other mockups, I put the nanner back on.
One thing I like about this seat with the tractor spring is that it subdues the spring a bit by covering it some. The spring feels more integrated with this seat than the others.

Speaking of having fun. I saw this desk light shroud sitting in my shop, so I had to test it.

Another bit of fun was testing this yard sale banana hanger.

I bought it a couple of years ago for some future bike build. Not as a nanner hanger, but as a fairing grill. No lie, that is what I saw the moment I saw this item on the table. :D

The seatpost bracket on the nanner was keeping me from mocking this up properly on the tractor spring. So I took the seat pans apart. So many times, these are roached in some way, but both pans and brackets are in great shape!! The seatpost bracket is riveted to the top pan. So rather than drill it out I am going to just use the bottom pan for mockups until I am sure I want to move forward with it.

And finally a wrapup on the mockups I did today. I tested the JetFlow rack jet tip with the desk lamp nanner streamline tip,

Then also threw in the nanner hanger fairing for giggles

Futuristic from another time. Too cool.

On one hand the nanner would look best slammed to the frame.
On the other hand the tractor spring would make it more rideable and more comfortable. Instead of messing with the spring why not simply use a triangle piece between the spring and the frame (one side bolts to the frame, one side to the spring)? The third side of the triangle, facing the tire could be shaped in a curve to mimic the tire curve. This is the easiest way to have the spring where and how you want it.
Wow, a lot of info, I am trying not to miss something... :D I think the lamp shroud for the nanner, the jet rear light on the rack and the curved front grill all work very well together. The front grill with the ring in the middle looks terrific!
I liked the Ruff seat pan, but I think I like the nanner more.
The faux Monark would take away from the wheels, I fear.
