Went out again for 3 hour ride. I had thought about taking a vacation day off so that I could get some brighter daylight. But the after work sun will just have to do.

Here are pics from the fig vine covered wall of the Comer House on Monterey Square. The sun was good here and I liked the contrasting background, so I took the opportunity to take some smaller pics of details of the bike (something I forgot about on my first ride).

Made it over to the Streamliner Diner at Sandfly BBQ
Sun was a mixed bag here. Some cloudy. Some shiny.
It was fun swinging by the Mailbox Cafe before this and showing off my bike. I always use them when I a dropping of boxed up bikes and parts that I have sold.

Random vintage Army ambulance based on an old Jeep Cherokee on my way over to Bobbies Diner. One freaky pic from Bobbies, but I left it here for fun.

The old Fox and Weeks Funeral Parlor which was converted into "The Mansion" hotel with a huge addition that matches the red brick and terra cotta like it's always been part of it.

20200831_171314.jpg

I liked the way the sun was shining through the fountain spray.

Had to take this pic. Our current neighbors are moving across the square to this HUGE trustee lot home. It was in such bad shape, but they have done an amazing job restoring it.

Love the architecture and settings that I run across on my rides.

Here is a fun Forsyth Park Fountain VIDEO

This is where I lay in the gutter for pics. Sun wasn't perfect for the Coca cola house. And I chopped the tires in some pics. Also I think in the past I had the bike farther away from the signage. But still always a cool pic.

Rode on down towards the river and took a different cobblestone ramp than I normally do. Pull over halfway down to a cool ballast stone wall area along Factor's Walk. In Savannah the Riverfront is about 3 tall stories lower than the rest of the city, so we have these ballast and cobble stone paved ramps leading down from Bay St to River St. Factor's Walk is sort of a mid level alley behind the river front old warehouses (which are all now hotels, shops, and restaurants). Many of thee stones were from the ballast stones that ships would bring in their hold across the Atlantic to weigh down their ships. They left them hear, because the filled their ships with cotton of other goods from the colonies.

I passed an awesome old military ambulance on E Henry by Whitaker the other day. Just sitting in the parking lot over there

Yeah, this is that one. Henry and Whitaker. You were about 12 blocks or so South of my house.

Went on down to River Street. These are the old cotton and material warehouses that are now shops hotels bars and restaurants.

20200831_183135.jpg

Then along the Riverwalk. Losing more daylight. If you see those smokestacks in the distance, that is the new Plant Riverside development. They took the old power plant and converted the area to nice hotels restaurants and bars and extended the Riverwalk even further toward the bridge.

One of my favorite monuments anywhere. This is a great WWII monument with the globe divided into the two theaters or operation. On the inside are the area veterans that died in the respective theaters. It's very humbling to see. We even found the memorial name of my wife's uncle who died in the Pacific.

This is down at the beginning of the Plant Riverside section of the Riverwalk looking back to where I was earlier.

Still construction at this end, but so much closer to the bridge. Looks like the beginnings of yet another fountain too :D .

20200831_184906.jpg

Since this was the old power plant there are some cool industrial elements that they kept. Found this wicked metal door backdrop.

And the smokestacks we saw earlier.

Went to this old loading dock that I used for some Firewing pics in BO8. Back then it was an old paper supply warehouse. Now it is a thriving brewery. You can see some of the vats inside. I love the old and new industrial vibe of it. The amber wood REALLY goe well with the coppertone. I also took advantage of being eye level with the bike and the background to take a round of detail pics.

Then when I rode around front of the brewery, I saw they had a big section of the amber wood. Couldn't pass up this background.

Went by the spot that I think I posted my first rat roddish bike from ages ago. There is so much that I love about all of the textures going on here. I hadn't taken any left side pics and I wanted to show this side off as well.

Okay everyone, that has to be enough pics to find a voting page pic as well as fill up ANY Finished thread. I'll take care of that tomorrow. Should be done well before the deadline. If something crazy happens, I pic the best pic first and at least get that posted up in the beginnings of a Finished thread. Then fill up the thread with this hoard of pics. Humor an old man who enjoys taking pics of his hard work and showing off his city at the same time. :D
Good night all my build brothers and sisters! TICK TOCK INDEED!!!

Ah, and in that time to post all those pics, I cracked 21,000 Views!

I know that feel when you see a place to take some pictures of your bike. Most people find it ugly, but we like the potential

Your bike came together pretty sweet. Love the paintjob and the lines in the paintjob!
How does it ride? Considering you rode it for 3 hours, it must be good!
