If I go with this scheme, I'll also have the guard and rack to bring in the colors.
Dig it. Love the 2 tone on the twin tubes. Always wanted to re-cover one of those Troxel nanners. Kind of like it better with just the stripe + mooneyes. Maybe make the black nose part a little smaller? Killer color scheme for this.

That looks smoother than my for real paint jobs. Maybe I oughta chop down my painting tree and plant a taping tree.

That's why I love the forum, you can see the bikes evolve, builders too. On Facebook is more or less before/after pics.

Thanks, I really like the paint layout too and I am almost certain that I will at least to that. It really shows off the twin tubes so well.
I'm not committed to the Mooneyes yet, but it was a great creative exercise to get my mind churning for this build.
It is pretty slick how well the tape job turned out and it even held up to my ride this evening, but don't go cutting down that paint tree just yet.
I agree, FB hasn't even come close to creating something that can be used as a RRB Build Journal.

The Retro Ryders milled headset came today. Basically it is a regular 1-1/8" headset that has had the insertion diameter milled down from 34mm to 32.5mm so that it can fit in many (not all) older 1" steertube headtubes.
My headtube insertion I.D. is actually closer to 32mm. I tried using my Park Tools CWH-1 and CWW-2 (Cup Wacker Hammer and Wood), but it wasn't quite the right tool.
I had to break out the CWHW-3000. It is basically the hammer and wood rolled into one tool. This did the trick perfectly on lower cup. The upper insertion point was a little tigher, so I used a curved file to file the opening at at little bit of an angle. I also did a slight bit of chamferring on the top bearing cup. After that the CWHW-3000 worked perfectly.
The 1-1/8 steertube slid right in.
I really like the looks of this fork with this build!!!

I got the stem and bars mounted. Even though it was still a heat index of 106 at 730pm, I still wanted to take SteamRoller out for a ride in the STEAM.
Once again you never know what you will see on a Savannah ride. When I stopped on one of our squares. A hawk flew down for some grub less than 8 feet from me then flew back up into the mossy oak to eat . This is so cool in an urban setting.
