Have you seen a Kingfisher build? Basically breaks the internet when he does a thing. "I'll just try out thirty-eight options for the seatpost"
And every option documented in high res pictures that take ages to load... šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

I know I don't need a swinger, but when I watch the vids, I want one. Has anyone ever built a swing trail bike?
This guy at least tried to ride his swing bike on a trail (second half of the video)

Almost forgot that I had made some detail shots...

The little fender-monster:

The makeshift fender mount:

A piece of inner tube as cable guide:

M6 nuts on a M5 bolt to act as spacers:

A small reach stem as stress relief:

I really like this branding:

All tucked away in the awning until our next visit on the campground (then I really have to make some nice finished pictures...):

Great build! Small aside, but that RV park looks like a beautiful oasis from what the rest of Berlin looks like! Not that Berlin is ugly, but it looks very outside of the city.
Yeah that campground is a really nice place to hang out. Check out my marker on the builders map. It's right at the edge of Berlin.

My son celebrated his birthday on the campground (his birthday is in January, but celebrating outside in a Berlin winter is no fun). So when I brought back his friends to the other side of lake Wannsee I took the chance to put some miles on the tires and some smiles in my face...
I made about 16 kilometers swinging the heck out of this bike...
Here it is on the Wannsee ferry:

And here we are back on the campground, trying out some angles for the final photo shooting:

And here's the rest of my campground fleet that was active this weekend....

Awesome steel stallion @SwissGuy !
Love the colour combo and the swing effect. If this bike had a theme song I would probable some psychedelic stoner song :rockout:

Final or finished picture idea:
Since this thing can swing and stuff is allowed to pass between the wheels if you catch my meaning, I personnaly would place the bike somewhere with something between the wheels, like an abyss of a water flow.

Anyway, love the fact that you are riding this beast and enjoying it!

I'll produce another video soon and will think about a theme song... :wink1:

Good hint! I already have an idea about that!

Oh yes, belive me, I really enjoy riding this bike (and the other SwingBike I have built)! :inlove:
It's pure fun and a full body workout at the same time! :showingbiceps:

Back on the campground for the weekend. I hope to get some good pictures done until Monday...
But first I had to do a bit of damage repair. Last time I was here the bike fell over and the front screws of the chainguard broke through the plastic.

A quick search through my boxes provided me with some washers...

Holds well enough for now. And tomorrow I'll try to get a first set of pics. I have a few ideas for that... šŸ˜‰

Was scouting a location at the local harbour today for final pics. The light at lunchtime was to bright, but the spot seems good.
The lines of the decking give some optical guidelines to make the second pivot better visible.
Will try it again later today...

Had the SwingBike on the stand again, but forgot to take pictures until after I was done.
Had to give an idea a try that someone gave me on that last ride with the other SwingBike: Adding glue into the tubes to get rid of the annoying squeaking noises when swinging...
Took at least a picture of the glue hardening... šŸ˜‚

Just realized that from this perspective it looks as if the top bar is level and the wheels have the same size... šŸ˜Ž

Had the kid in front of me today with the action cam mounted on his rear rack taking serial pictures...

I know, my finished thread is already up, but while looking at it today, I thought about swapping pics:

Actual top shot:
looks like a normal bike at first until you look at the flooring boards and positions of the tires.
SwingBike_7.1 Lined Up.jpg

Alternative #1 (my favorite so far):
Definitely not looking like a normal bike. Shows off the main feature very well...
SwingBike_2.1 Twisted.jpg

Alternative #2:
Somewhat romantic, shows the side-by-side possibility well, but hides the second pivot...
SwingBike_12.1 Lined Up back Lake LookOut.jpg

Alternative #3:
Non-drive -side, but shows off the second pivot and it's function very well
SwingBike_5.1 Angled.jpg

What do you guys think...?
