Took more than an hour to upload, but here's todays test ride video:

behind the cam was my 11years old son 😉

Nobody cried, and nobody died...

Doing some Imelda Barcos work...
First the ape

Looks good but the handling for swinging isn't very comfortable due to the wide reach...
So the curly bar goes on...

...and stays on! I like the look and the handling is great! 👍
Almost done now. If I can find a suitable bottom bracket for my smaller cranks in my stash I might switch, but I could also leave it as it is...
I will decide tomorrow...

Imelda Barcos time? Does that mean the bike is getting new shoes (tires) too?👠

To be honest, I like the look of the rotted white walls. But the rear definitely needs a new sock (aka tube) as it looses a bit of air...

Found a candidate for a BB switch. So I will try to make the change tomorrow...

I really like how easy you make this bolt up conversion look. Not only does the end product behave well, it really looks cool as well.
WELL DONE!!!!

In our little world that's usually referred to as the time when everyone busts out all of their different handlebar options and begins swapping them
Oh, I thought it might have been a reference between someone having lots of handlebars and Imelda Marco's 3000 pairs of shoes. And I am sure some of the RRBers have 3000 pairs of handlebars...:crazy2:

Checking my options I might get lucky, as the original bb from the Mars seems to be a Thompson as well. So I probably only need to change the axle itself and don't need to knock out the cups and can keep the bearings if the are ok... :dance2:

Propping up this bike on a standard workstand needs some extra tweaking...

And while the BB axle was out I took care of that little remaining stump from the down tube

As expected, I could use the bearings and cups that were already in and the axle assembly went pretty smooth after some cleaning and regreasing.
One new problem was that the new crankset was out wider than the old one, so the chain guard would have ended inside of the front gear...
IMG_20230528_124418943_HDR.jpg

But some bending of the mounts took care of that
IMG_20230528_132726573_HDR.jpg

After I shortened the chain by one piece I could put the rear wheel back on and so are crankset and chain guard...
IMG_20230528_135546377_HDR.jpg

And the rear fender got a little topper too...

So where's that section for the finished threads...? 😜
