Good friends are worth it!
My best friend whom is to all of us known as “Pisco” keeps telling us that he’d like to have one of those old diamond frame roadsters. So I decided to build him a bike:
I started with a “The Zenith Cycles” English frame I had, and some other parts, and I was decided to make the best I could, with a little hot rod look.
Painted it with a dark gray paint that feels like forged steel:
Got new bearings
Greased up the hubs and got the bearings in
Placed all the parts on petrocleaner to get'em shiny
and in no time the wheels were rolling again
Then I got a new 18 teeth sprocket (FULL STEEL BALLS!) and cleaned up spokes and hubs. Boy that was hard..
Then I painted the rims, sanded the rims's walls to get the white sidewall look, and got new tires
Proceeded with the frame. The badge looked really good after cleaning.
Got new bearings and the steering was on
The first mockup with flat tires
Then I turned this...
...Into a decent horseshoe brake
And there ya go
Headbadge
Retro grips from Holland
Motorcycle chain adds some volume
Rubber block pedals
A pretty cool ride
A bit of work but good friends are worth it!
I'm gonna deliver it tomorrow night.
Keep rollin'
