It sure looks cool with the spear tip and shorter.
The headlamp turned out amazing. Fascinating stuff this paint! I had a look at their site and would probably order a can of yellow.
I assume you wait for every coat to dry before you apply the next? (30 minutes according to the manufactorer).

Actually you can recoat in as little as 1 minute. I just waited until any cloudy areas were clear, then recoated. I think i have about 6 coats

This morning I saw the photos closely for the first time. I really dig the blue lens mod! And then that cool knurled clasp on the top of the headlight housing; that really ties in with the tank lines / shapes.

Another thing I noticed is that the speedo has disappeared from the mock ups. With as cool (and fairly dominating) as the headlight is, maybe the Gaskill has become road kill? And I mean that in the most sensitive and kind way possible!

I think the Gaskill speedo is super cool, and actually fits the vibe of this build perfectly; just not sure if it will complement the flow and line you have going right now......look at this...!

Thanks OJ, the speedo isn't dead, just set aside as I work through the other items. At the same time it's not locked in either. Just waiting to see how it works with paint and everything else. Too early to decide at this point.

I appreciate all of the feedback on shortening the sissy bar. While I was contemplating that, I worked on the headlight. Took it apart and secured it properly to the fork.

Then I pulled out the can of Krylon Stained Glass paint that I picked up at craft store the other night.

This stuff was awesome to work with! You just use light coats. It goes on kinda cloudy, but wait a little while and it dries clear and tinted. You just continue the process of light coats until you get the tone you want. I couldn't be happier with the result. This is exactly what I wanted.

I like the overhead views too. Especially this one were you can read the WESTERN on the sissy spear.

I've seen the old motorcycles with yellow lenses, so I thought blue would be cool. Searched around for films and then thought of stained glass paint. Went to the craft store for the brush on kind and found this instead. I love how it turned out.

Yeah I've only seen yellow glass lens, seen all different colors on gasser drag cars. Never on a bike so I figured I'd be the first to try a different color.

I know that I have seen other colors on the forum over the years, but you are definitely the first one in this build off. Did you find a green light or did you color yours?

When too much is never enough, love the rat dragster flair of this build.

Thanks man. It's kinda got a life of it's own. I didn't start out with any set theme. Just moving along with whatever it gives me.

I know the ratty mix of different color parts was sorta flowing together a little, but I wasn't feeling it for this build. So today I took off the rear tins and went over to visit with Dadfish. Laid some stripper on the parts and went inside to visit with him.

It's my first time using this less lethal stripper. Man it sure took more elbow grease, but I eventually got the tins stripped. I love the look of this metal. I think the fender may be a stainless steel one.

Once I got back home, I couldn't wait to get them mounted up to see them all one color for the first time. I may change up my color scheme slightly to have some bare metal in there. We'll see. These parts sure do blend well together.

Even though Hurricane Dorian is a good ways away, we have already had feeder bands of heavy rain the past couple of days. The rain is definitely going to impact any paint windows that I have between now and the 9th.

Agree. The switch to stainless made a huge difference. Brings together the design. Perhaps you could bring back a bit of the blue as a highlight on the tank, chainguard and skirts
