A couple friends from outta town wanted to see some sights so I took them on a bike ride. Took them around Santa Monica, Venice beach and a few other spots along the way.
Brought out my Columbia, Huffy and Cyclepro.

I don't know about you guys, but I ride my bikes as I assemble them for the build offs. I took the Chiggins! out for a shake down run the other day and again today minus the fender and skirts... Usually just a short run depending on how it feels, I put a couple miles in today.

So I joined a team my sister started for the Great Cycle Challenge. I ride and a program tracks my miles for June. I pledged an easy 100 miles and today rode just a few. On Chiggins! Really needs a decent set of BB bearings and I'm going to dig thru the hubs I have to see what flys, ha. But all in all I've actually put close to 20 miles on it as us and it's a roller.

The Columbia looks hot with the BMX fork...

Took out Interrobang.
Saw some weird people covered in streamers of tissue paper and banging sticks together. Made me think of a rejected Borat skit.

Aye, the sea be a fickle lady, beautiful and bold, she can turn her love to rage at ye with the wink of her eyes. But, how those heavenly brief moments of her grace be worth the span of a hundred lifetimes of toil tied to the land! So, the fog rolled in rather suddenly.

I have a bad habit of making my bikes too nice and then not riding them. I bought this Grant's department store bike for one dollar, laced a nexus three into it and I have put about a thousand miles on it, A cheap lock is good enough, and if anything at all breaks I can replace it for cheap.

My afternoon cruise today was this week's revival bike. A '41 Royal Flyer that came home brushed and bombed as shown, with fenders and wood block peddles.

Today it has fresh grease and rubber where it goes and glides whisper quiet and in the direction you point it.
This week's combo only, nothing is set in lockite.
This week's special was made possible by the kind donations of 80s? Schwinn steering and rolling groupo.

Affordable land in the city?
I'll see what I can dig up on this scheme.

Is that : first build in near.. forty years, in the build off 14? If not, start a thread and join in.:D:39:

So I've not been working on build off bikes so much this past week. I pulled out an incomplete build from the last muscle bike build off. I just had to put it down for a while. But now it's been the one I've put the most into, rebuilding, rewelding, reimagining. I'm on a mission, it's got to be quick and it's kind of a tank. Muscle Spasm revisited. No long rides yet as it has no brakes ( waiting on cables ) but I've put at least a mile or so on it in test runs and hehe, it's quick for a tank.
